Chapter 9
I then froze as the little light in the big room dimed out and it was almost completely pitch black.
"Oh no..."

Good thing I'm not afraid of the dark. Or else this would've been scary.

Though while I tried to cheer myself up with encouraging thoughts, I heard movements in the water, and they weren't my own.

"..." I began to move through the water quicker, not really knowing where I was going but hopefully somewhere 'safe'.

The water felt like it was slowly rising as I continued through the rooms.
"Hel—" the lights turned on, brighter then before and I could see everything almost clear as day.

"Oh, that's bet—" I stopped speaking as something emerged from behind a doorway, an inhuman thing now motioning towards me.
"😨"

Frozen in fright, I was suddenly pulled backwards, out of the way of the hostile seeming creature and I was awoken from my unconsciousness.

I was laying on the grass, seeing Hakun sitting beside me while gripping my wrist tight in his hand.

"What'd you do?"
"I only pulled your arm. Be helpful by NOT making me have to waste my time waking you up. Do I look like a parent to you?"

I sighed with relief. That thing in my dream was terrifying. What if I fall asleep again and have to—
"Hey. Have you lost the ability to speak or something?? Get up and find food."

I sat up. "Find food? You can't order me around like I'm some kind of servant!"

"I'll do whatever I want. It's your fault we're lost."
"How is it my fault! Your the one who chased me here."

"Aren't you the one who decided to run into the forest like an idiot in the first place?"

"I wouldn't have had to if you didn't chase me out the school."
He moved his face closer to mine menacingly. "I wouldn't have done that if you didn't punch me in the face."

"...I wouldn't have punched you if you hadn't dragged me from out of my chair at lunch."
"Only because you cut my brother in line."

"He cut me first!"

"Good you should starve."
"If anyone should starve, it should be you, Hakun."
"Ugh shhh! Why are you so loud??"

He stood up in front of me, glancing around the woodland.

"If you've forgotten. The forest is home to many wild animals. Don't think I'll jump to save you when an animal attacks you."

"I would never want help from you. I'd rather die."
Before he could make another retort, I got up and headed away.

Out of any one to be lost here with, it just has to be Hakun. Seriously, what have I done to deserve such misfortune. . .
