Ch 1: Starting line

A/n: UA is a college and everyone in the first year is 18, this does merge with Marvel and DC worlds, so you will see characters like Batman and Iron man in some chapters. Anyway hope you enjoy the first chapter.

Kaito Pov

I wake up to sun peeking through my curtains and hitting my eyes directly, I squint in irritation, the brightness making me see red spots. I sit up and yawn, feeling the fatigue and drowsiness of the sleep I had last night. I look to my desk where the only picture I have of my family sits. I feel a small smile grace my lips. I pick it up and run my thumb across the faces. Its a bittersweet feeling I have when I look at this, my smile drops as the memories flood in.

Kaito: "Still miss you mom, dad. Hope I talk with you soon Pete."

I set the frame down and decide to take a shower to wake up, as the water runs and hits me the heat and steam help relax my muscles, and wake me up some more. I stand there for a few minutes as I remember that day.

Flashback

Ben: "I'm sorry Kai, wish I could keep you and Pete together. But I promise to always keep in contact with my nephew, will even get Pete to do the same."

Kaito: "Ok..."

Peter: "It'll be ok Kaito, I promise we'll see each other again."

Kaito: "...I'm gonna miss you two."

Ben: "I promise Kaito, I won't ever forget you. We'll stay in touch and hopefully visit you."

I smile and hug my uncle and brother, Aunt May was talking with my foster family who were more then happy to let me say goodbye. After they were done talking and saying goodbyes, I walk into the car, the last I saw of my uncle and brother was them waving. I waved back and then they were gone. I sigh and slump back in my seat.

???: "It'll be alright, don't worry they won't ever forget about you."

I smile, my foster mother was right, they wouldn't forget about me.

Flashback end

I feel a tear slide down my cheek, but ignore it, I wash the soap and shampoo off me and step out. I dry off before walking back to my room and getting dressed into my school uniform, placing the locket on and tucking it under my shirt. I heard plates shuffling downstairs before making my way down to see my foster mom, Reina, making breakfast. James, my foster dad, is already reading the newspaper while drinking coffee. I walk over and hug Reina before taking a seat next to Ayame, my foster sister. She turned four a few months ago.

Ayame: "Morning big bro!"

Kaito: "Hey sunshine."

I pat her head as she smiles, her quirk making the light sparkle around her, only adding to her cuteness. I sit next to her as Reina puts breakfast out, I thank her before digging in, Ayame sat on my lap as we watched her favorite show to pass time before I head to school. I hear the front door open, signalling that James is leaving.
