LXXXVIII. Break
As the screen fades to black indicating the end, the lights in the great hall are once more turned on. For a moment a long silence hangs, no one knew what to say, anything would be deemed inappropriate at the moment.
Regardless of moral values, Sirius was the first to break the silence with a not so subtle comment saying "Well that was eventful". His nonchalant comment caused many to turn to him and stare in disbelief, wondering all the same thing 'What in Merlin's beard
On the other hand, Annie couldn't help but snort at his words "That surely sounds like something you'd say, Sirius"
"Eh, why cry about it?" he replied "Death is the final and unavoidable endgame, no one will ever evade it"
James turned to face his best mate, once more pulling him into a tight embrace grumbling as he says "I hate it when you say depressing things like that"
"It's alright mate" Sirius pats him on the back reassuringly "I'm sorry you had to watch that"
"Yeah, the last thing I'd ever want to watch is you passing away, Pads, you're my brother don't forget that"
"I know, I know" the two pulled apart ignoring the nosey people watching them. Sirius turned to Regulus a teasing smile on his face "Come on, Reggie, I know I'm fabulous, no need to cry over it"
"Sod off, I'm not crying" his little brother answered flushing at the words, embarrassed to be crying in public, in front of his parent nonetheless. "I think something got in my eye"
"Of course, the classic lie" chuckled James amused by the duo's interaction
Remus rolled his eyes standing up saying "Quit teasing you two, it's uncalled for"
"Yes, sir!" saluted a grinned Sirius
"Where are you going?" asked a confused James as he looked around noticing that many had formed circles talking, others leaving the hall, the teachers talking amongst themselves.
"Well this was the last movie for today" the werewolf answered as if it was obvious
"Really? See you later sods, I'll go talk to my beautiful little pumpkin" without sparing his friends anther look he took off, hurrying to where Annie and Hermione were talking alone
Remus turned back to Regulus, the two locking eyes, unable to look away from some reason, until the werewolf snapped out of it remembering that Sirius was still there, clearing his voice he looked away from the youngest Black saying
"Right... I'll be going to.... The courtyard for some fresh air" he mumbled
"I'll come with you!" exclaimed Regulus almost frantically, his eyes widen at the realization of what he said, heart beat picked up anxious waiting for Remus' reaction "I... I mean... I need-"
"Calm down little Black, you can come with me" the werewolf grins happily, his eyes brown chocolate eyes reflecting his delight.
"Right"
Sirius watches amused and confused at the same time as his best mate walks away while his little brother trails behind the werewolf sheepishly, he shrugs and turns around ready to annoy Marlene, stopping when he comes face to face with his cousin and her husband to be Rodolphus
Bellatrix stared at Sirius, dark eyes emotionless, and face blank, Sirius wasn't any better, if there was one thing he learned while living with the Blacks, his supposed parents. It would be how to maintain a blank face, passive and nonchalant, but no emotion whatsoever. The two were in an intense stare off. Dark glaring Grey and vice versa.
