CXXIV. The wedding

The following evening, found Fred leaning against the door of the second floor's bathroom, his gaze snagged on the fiery cascade of curls tumbling down the back of the redhead in the mirror. When she finally turned, his playful smirk dissolved. He didn't like what he saw, not a bit.

Annie, however, felt a thrill course through her. Despite the borrowed skin, the rich brown dress hugged her curves perfectly, and the small heels accentuated her toned legs. Despite Fred's obvious dislike to what he saw, she couldn't care less, she liked it.

James blinked confused "Who?- " he began to ask, and he wasn't the only one who was confused, almost everyone in the room gaped at the new appearance. Sirius shook his head in disbelief "I thought Ginny was the only Weasley girl? He asked confused, his question directed at Molly and Arthur, who looked equally perplexed.

"Well, true but..." she trailed off, her gaze trailed to the screen again, and she sounded unsure for a second, although the resemblance was palpable. She shared a confused look with her husband who only shrugged telling her to go alone with it.

Theo gaped at the screen, his eyes wide as he whispered "Now, who is that?"

"Someone out of your league" scoffed George "Out of sight, out of mind" and Theo merely grumbled as he glared at him.

However, she knew the source of Fred's sudden glumness. He wasn't completely on board with the idea of her having to take a Polyjuice potion to attend the wedding. Apparently, there was some aunt of his he wanted to piss off and his plan relied completely on Annie being his wing woman and this Polyjuice Potion business threw a wrench in that.

Still, Annie liked the idea. It wasn't that she suspected the guests might be spies, but she wanted Fleur and Bill to have a smooth and happy day. They deserved it, and she wouldn't let anything, not even her appearance, ruin their celebration. Besides, watching Fred grapple with his frustration was undeniably entertaining.

Fred: [Grumbling as he roughly rubbed his jaw] This is a terrible idea.

Annie: [Raising an eyebrow] Funny... That's not what you were saying when you eagerly took the Polyjuice and impersonated me!

"Annie?!!!!" shouted a rather shocked James. And to say he taken off guard would be an understatement, and he was not the only shocked and surprised one for that matter. Sirius was equally surprised as he was lost for words, clearly not expecting the turn of events.

Theo turned to Annie with annoyed look "You?" he scoffed, but his annoyed look quickly melted and was replaced by smug one "Polyjuice, that means the girl you're impersonating, does exist... Who is she?"

George, rolled his eyes "Like I said, out of your league". Theo scoffed as he pinned him with a look, as if to say 'Really?'.

"Are you really not going to tell me, who is the bird?" he asked annoyedly

"No, no, I don't think I will" shrugged George.

Fred: [Scoffing as he rolls his eyes] It's not the same thing, Annie. This isn't you. This is... my cousin.

Arthur's solution was to introduce Annie as a distant relative. Apparently, a cousin named Victoria Weasley, unable to attend due to a sick grandmother, had generously donated a strand of hair.

Annie: [Announcing with a proud smirk, her amusement growing at Fred's dramatic eye roll] Victoria Weasley, at your service!

Fred: [Rolling his eyes as he stepped closer to her] The only upside of this whole thing, is that you're wearing my last name [Winking, he leaned in for a quick peck. The contact quickly jolted him back to reality. An expression of disgust contorted his features] Merlin's beard, Annie. I can't even kiss you properly without feeling revolted.
