Dear diary,

I am so in love with Remus Lupin. He's just so dreamy, and nice, and pretty, and perfect. I can't believe I didn't see it before but he is the love of my life and I don't think I could go an hour without seeing him or I might go crazy.

I realised all this this morning, and I just will never understand why I tried to convince myself I didn't like him. He's truly the love of my life, whether these feelings are new or not...

Remus had been in an irritable mood for most of breakfast. Throughout the entire meal the only time he talked to me was to ask about my bandaged up hand, which I told him was an accident with a quill pen while doing my homework. Still, I had to carry out my plan whether he was in a good mood or not. Maybe him being tired would be the key to my success...

"Hey, Remus?" I got his attention from the plate in front of him. He hadn't eaten much, only moving the food around on his plate for a while before stopping to brood at the floor instead.

He turned his head slowly, a sleepy look on his face that I could tell would immediately change to annoyed if I said something wrong.

I pushed my hot chocolate in his direction slowly, offering the vial of amortentia to him too. "I can't open it and I need to put it in my drink. Would you do it for me, please?" He nodded slowly without saying a word, taking the vial and opening it without complaint.

Everything was going easily, until Lily noticed the vial in Remus' hand.

"What's that, Remus?" Lily asked, suspicious of a prank from the boys at least.

Remus stopped himself from pouring the potion into the drink, waiting for Penelope to answer the question that he himself forgot to ask.

"It's just some painkiller potion that I got from the medical wing." Lily still looked suspicious of the vial. "For my hand." Penelope lifted up her bandaged hand as if it was obvious, noticing how Lily relaxed slightly again when she couldn't dispute it.

"Uh, right. Yeah. Sorry." Lily smiled and turned back to Alice, taking small glances every once in a while as Remus poured in the vial of 'painkiller potion'.

Once he was done, Penelope took the vial from his hand and stretched up to kiss his cheek. "Thank you, Remus."

Finally, a small smile fell onto Remus' face, thankful for the comfort that the affection brought him. As Penelope sipped on her hot chocolate, a smile graced her face too, knowing that her trial had begun, and her guilt would be no more.

She would love Remus Lupin without a doubt, exactly how she planned it.
