Chapter 12

Cora

The door to the basement open up and Ivan walks in, he rushes over to me and crouches in front of me before taking my face in his palm making me look at him

"What happened Cara"? He asks with concern and I just continue hiccuping, with tears running down my face
"Talk to me Cara, what happened? Did Dimitri hit you? Did he do anything to you"? He asks and I just shake my head choking in sobs.

"Then why are you crying"? He asks sitting in front of me, wiping away my tears with his hands.

"Tell me what they did to you and who"? He asks his voice a bit louder and I just swallow the pain and manage to calm my breathe down before I start explaining everything to him, from when I talked to Lorenzo to when I wanted to pee and that man gave me a bucket.

All of it, I narrate to him and he just listen, after everything his jaw is clenched and he looks pretty pissed

"What did Dimitri say"? He asked looking at me and I just swallow

"I don't know what he told him, but I just know he just left here looking frightened, they were both speaking Russia" I explain to him and he just breathes out before clutching his hair

"You're not safe in here, what if Dimitri didn't come down at the time he did"? He says deep in thought

"Well I wouldn't be here in the first place of Dimitri didn't kidnap me" I almost snap at him, even though Dimitri saved me today, it's still his fault that I'm even locked up here in the first place, he put me in this position.

Ivan looks at me with a somber look "I know but if there's one thing I know about Dimitri is that he never brought you here with the intention of letting anyone molest or violate you" he says seriously

"That's something that I promise Dimitri will never let it happen to you" he says with conviction

It still doesn't excuse the fact that I'm here because of him, he brought me here, locked me up in this God awful basement and let his men even come close to me.

"And as for Vlad, he'll get what's coming to him, I know Dimitri won't let him off easy" he says sitting close to me

"How are you sure he wasn't the one that orchestrated the whole thing"? I ask my voice croaky from all the crying I'd been doing

"Dimitri would never do something like that, I promise you" he pauses studying my face before talking "something happened a few years ago that changed Dimitri and also made him give out the rule that on no account will anyone from this mafia indulge in sexual molestation of any woman, regardless of who she is, the crime is punishable by death" he says with finality

Making me wonder if the Vlad of a guy knew this much about the rule, why was he ready to break it?
Does it mean Dimitri will kill him?

All these questions running through my mind when Ivan's voice break into my chain of thought

"I'm going to go get you something to eat, will you be okay"? He asks and I just nod my head

It's been probably a long time I've been locked up here, Ivan and I have gotten really close with time, I can safely say we're friends.

I mean he's the only one who doesn't glare at me, he feeds me properly and he likes talking to me, basically I can classify him as my friend.

I haven't heard anything about Enzo since the last time I saw him, and Speaking of which I haven't seen Dimitri since well....since he saved me from getting raped by one of his men.
