Yelena and Sonya had managed to convince Antonia she would be best utilized saving widows and staying back. She didn't open her mouth to object, and they didn't mention the sigh of relief that seemed to leave her mouth.

The two spent the journey to the North American faction in near silence, only breaking it to occasionally mutter through navigation. Neither of them choosing to discuss the cascade of thoughts they were both struggling to work through.

Yelena stared straight ahead, and didn't attempt to push away the thoughts that clung to her mind. Where was he located? How would they even know where to start looking if this person wasn't thought to exist? Does he continue the fight started by his father? Was he subjugated? If so, and even if not, what were his intentions?

Again, she felt frustration and anxiety creep through her chest like fire as the questions didn't stop. The pain of the fire as familiar to her as anything else; she still hadn't stopped feeling it, even after being freed.

Adjusting her grip on the wheel in front of her, Yelena attempted to reroute her thoughts onto things she could control. She chose to think of when she would drop down and finally see her sister again, as it had been a few months since they were even in the same continent.

After the Red Room fell Natasha had presented Yelena with the flash drive and was gone. Again.

Luckily, this time Yelena was left with a promise of reaching back out once the heat surrounding her had cooled. It had taken a few months, but she and the others were finally free to come out of hiding, and Nat wasted no time in reconnecting with Yelena and offering herself to the cause. She had even managed to recruit Wanda and Kate much to Yelena's suprise and slight objection.

As Yelena thought of her sister she couldn't help but think about how she was going to present this new mission. Once they tracked down Descendant, the widows would look to her for the next step, and she still didn't know if she should order them to kill.

This seemed to upset Yelena most of all. Since the day she was freed she had always had an answer. A path to follow. She was always in control and lead well, because she never faltered in her decisions. Deep down she truly just felt embarrassed, because of course, the first time she can't figure something out on her own she has to run back to big sister for help.

20 minutes out and Yelena still had no idea what she was going to say to the team about the file's contents. The more she thought about it the more her brain flashed unwanted images of the photo.

Images of the sharp jaw line, the button nose, the broad shoulders, the full lips. As much as Yelena didn't want to admit it, she just could not imagine Drekov having a son that looked so pretty.

She internally scolded herself for the second time that evening, but still could not stop the images of their eyes from flooding her brain. Again, she felt fire sparking through her chest, but why didn't it hurt this time?

"3 minutes til touch." Came Sonya's voice forcing Yelena out of her own head. She turned her attention to the controls in front of her and brought them down in time to see Natasha step through the door.

Yelena stepped out and felt an intense wave of relief wash over her as she met her sister's eyes.
"Good to see you without an injury, сестра." Yelena titled her head and let out a teasing high pitched "Ha" in response. As soon as Yelena stepped into the light Nat noted the bags under her eyes, the constant clench in her jaw, and the tightness in her spine.

"I know you aren't here under good circumstance but don't hit me because we both need this." Nat whispered before pulling Yelena into a tight hug.

From behind them Sonya was shocked to see that Yelena's body did not pull into an uncomfortable straight position. Instead, she watched as Yelena's shoulders slumped and her forehead fell to her sister's shoulder. While Yelena made no move to bring her own arms around Natasha, it was still the first time Sonya had seen Yelena look something other than stoic. Sonya instinctively turned her head away. Deep down she knew their leader wasn't as unbothered as she let on, just like a majority of them that had been after being saved, but it still felt wrong to bear witness.
