*trigger warning: implied SA*

Yelena slipped out of her chair and rushed out the door knowing she couldn't react in front of him. She stood in the hallway chest heaving, unable to go back or go foward and face her team.

It made sense that she was a target, she had quite the reputation with the Red Room. What didn't make sense was the look in his eyes when he asked her name, like some part of him knew the answer. It didn't make sense for his voice to get so soft when making her promise her own safety. It especially didn't make sense when she couldn't find it in herself to hate him.

She had only spent a second longer in the hallway controlling her breathing before stepping into the room behind the mirror. She was hounded immediately.
"What did he write?"
"Did you get the name?"
"Can we get rid of him now?"
"What do we do next?"
The questions came so fast she couldn't make out who had asked what. She sat on the counter and faced them. "Come on guys I can't concentrate with all of you talking at once." Yelena said, and they all got quiet as they listened.

"It's me. The next target is me. He wrote my name down but I don't think he knows it's my name."
"Okay so do we use him to lure them to us or take him out now?" Clarke said getting straight to the point.
"Woah, are you suggesting we still kill him? Did you not hear the same conversation I did? He didn't have any choices. Killing him would just be wrong." Kate countered confidently.

"You didn't see it. You didn't feel it. What is it that you suggest instead? Dress him up in a fancy suit and label him the newest avenger? Life doesn't always have an easy answer." Clarke argued as she leaned closer to Kate. Lexa placed a hand to her shoulder and brought her back as Sonya stepped foward to block Kate's body.

Yelena spoke loudly, in an attempt to end further disagreement, "We cannot kill him Clarke, but that doesn't mean he has to be everyone's new bestie. He could prove useful. I know you guys heard him, and if he feels inclined to keep me safe we can't deny that his abilities could be a huge asset."
"How do we know that when he finds out it's actually you he won't immediately change his mind?" Clarke pressed.
"I'll walk him back to his cell and find out." Yelena responded as she slid off the counter.

"Why not just do it now?" Sonya questioned.

"He knows you guys are watching. I think he'll be more inclined with less eyes and ears." Yelena attempted, but in reality she wanted a moment with him. She wanted to see his reaction up close when she told him, and she wanted it to be all for her.

Clarke got up and pushed her chair back in frustration before stepping up to Yelena.
"Never thought I'd see the day you turned so fucking soft." Clarke spat before she turned on her heel and stepped out.

Yelena didn't acknowledge the others as she grabbed the keys and walked back to the interrogation room. When she swung the door open it looked as though he hadn't even moved since she left. He just sat with his back to the door and looked towards the empty chair in front of him, he didn't even turn to look at her.

"I'm gonna take you back to your room now. Probably for the rest of the day." Yelena said, giving him a warning before she reached to undo his cuffs. He nodded his head and when she was done, pushed out his chair to stand next to her.

Yelena hesitated when she went to grab his chains, and he must have noticed because he leaned in to whisper, "You know I've been walking for a really long time, I could probably manage my way back without you holding on. I'm not gonna run. Why would I? I don't have anywhere else to run to."

When Yelena looked to his face she was met with what could almost be called a grin. She felt something flutter in her chest and hoped the girls had stopped listening to the microphones in the room. Before his stare could make her face hot she stepped out of the room and started walking, trusting him to follow. She only made it about three feet before she heard his steps fall into sync behind her and she had to force herself not to smile.
