Ricky was in his bedroom, squeezing a stress ball as he watched the intro to 'Mack And Spark'. To say he couldn't help but feel a bit jealous when Ashlyn and Gina put summer forward to help Mack would be an understatement. All he wanted to do when Ashlyn called Summer 'single' was to shout that they were actually back together. But he couldn't. About half way through the intro he paused it and shouted to his dad. "You could just text me like a normal teenager." Mike Bowen says, walking into his sons room. "If you were me, would you be intimidated by this guy?" Ricky asks, showing his dad the laptop screen. "He's pretty cute, but I bet he sheds a lot." Mike says. "The other guy." Ricky says. "He looks about ten." Mike says. "How about the present day version? Shirtless on a beach. Taken a week ago by Summer when they met in Cali." Ricky asks, showing his dad a photo Mack had posted on his Instagram. "Oh. I'd only be intimidated if that guy went to East High, Buddy." Mike says. "Oh. Goody." Ricky says. "But if this is about Summer. You ain't got nothing to worry about. You love each other. Nothing will break that." Mike tells him.
Ricky was sat his bed watching an episode of 'Mack and Spark'. "Who knew you would become such a super fan?" Ricky jumps at the voice and looks up. "Ellie?" He questions. "You tell anyone I was here I'll kick your butt." Ellie tells him. "Yep. I believe you would." Ricky says. "What are you doing here?" "I'm worried about Summer." Ellie says. Ricky's mood instantly changes from confused to worried. "Why?" Ricky asks. "I don't want her to get her hopes up that something could happen between her and Mack. She's always had a small crush on him and now she's become kind of good friends with him I don't want her to get her hopes up. Ever since the last day of camp she's been smiling none stop. I don't know why." Ellie says. "Why are you coming to me about this?" Ricky asks. "Because you're the only one who has ever been able to talk some actually sense into her other then me. If I try to shell just say 'I'm too young to understand'." Ellie says. "I'll talk to her." Ricky says. "Thanks." Ellie says. "I'm going to go before Summer checks my location and sees I'm here." Ellie then leaves. "Okay." Ricky says closing his laptop. Ricky puts his hoodie on and grabs his phone before leaving the apartment.

Summer was humming the tune to "I don't dance' from 'High School Musical 2'. She looks up and freezes when she sees who was getting out of a car in front of her. It was her parents.
Summer managed to make it back to Ashlyn's house without her parents seeing her. She was trying to calm down when Ricky appears in the window. "Psst." Ricky says, Summer doesn't responds. He climbs through the windows. "Boo!" Summer screams. "Summer, you ok up there?" Mrs Caswell asks. "Yeah!" Summer replies, as they hear Mrs Caswell coming up the stairs causing Ricky to dive behind the bed. "I thought I just saw a spider but I didn't." "Okay." Mrs Caswell says, before leaving. Ricky sits on the bed next to her and kisses her. "I missed you." Ricky says. "I missed you to." Summer replies. "You know. Ellie just came to see me. She thinks your gonna fall for Mack." Ricky says. "Yeah, no way that's happening. I already got the guy of my dreams." Summer says. Ricky smiles before kissing her again. "You okay? Somethings up I can tell." Ricky says. "My parents... they got out of jail." Summer says. "What? How do you know that?" Ricky asks. "I saw them. They've moved into a house a couple streets down." Summer says. "Okay. There's no way you and Ellie are staying here anymore then. You can come stay with me." Ricky says. "Rick..." Summer starts. "No, Sum. There's no way I'm letting you be this close to them." Ricky says. "Okay, we can figure this out later. It's not why I invited you over." Summer says. "I invited you over because I toke a stab at the song, at the words to the melody thing you wrote." "This was supposed to take us all year." Ricky says. "We'll, I like to finish my assignments early so I can move on." Summer says. "See? And I never do my homework. So opposites do attract." Ricky say. "I think. Yeah." Summer says handing Ricky one of her earphones. "I'll take the left one." Ricky says. "Listen, the chorus may be a little wordy." Summer says. "Anything you have to say, I want to hear." Ricky tells her. Summer smiles before they put one earphone in each and Summer starts to play the track.
