Sunshine
"Don't worry, sweetheart, you've helped him as best as you can."
___________________________Light rays seeped into the living room of the Back Bay apartment, diverging across the space in pretty beams of sunlight.
Paired with the light crashing of Charles River's waves, it was a rather slow morning for the Hunter-Ramsey household. The both of them had been able to beat the jetlag, having sufficient sleep to wake up early, with Ethan even squeezing a run before breakfast that Blue had offered to make as she far too tired to join him.
"You're weird." Blue said, eyeing her husband over the rim of her cup of coffee as she watched him arrange his collection of cacti neatly over a higher shelf in their living room.
"I'm being protective." Ethan replied, glancing back at her.
"And what exactly are you protecting your precious cacti from?" she asked teasingly.
"Jenner." he answered like it was obvious. "He never had a problem with them until you decided to butcher them for your hangover cure and taking them out of my cabinet. Now he tries to eat them every other day."
Blue tried to stifle her laugh at the way he was almost sulking playfully, though she let out a chuckle.
"My boy Jenner does nothing of that sort. Don't accuse him falsely." she quipped in response, watching as Ethan walked over to her, taking the cup of coffee that she handed over to him, before taking a sip from it.
"You and him are going to be the reason for all my grey hair." he told her.
"Hmm, and here I was thinking age was the reason." she teased, laughing as Ethan rolled his eyes. "How are you gonna stay sane when we finally do have kids?"
"Well, they'll be driving you up the walls too once they're old enough." Ethan replied, his smile carrying a certain tenderness despite the playfulness in his tone. "Until then I think we can make do with Jenner's antics."
"Can't argue with that." Blue smiled, leaning up to press a kiss to his lips.
"Ready for work?" Ethan asked, moving to grab his things.
"I'm still in honeymoon mood honestly." Blue replied, making him chuckle.
"Me too, but I'm sure we'll settle in just fine once we're dealing with the cases." Ethan reassured her.
With that, the both of them headed to the hospital, ready to start their first day at work as a married couple.

Edenbrook's doors opened to the atrium as Blue and Ethan walked in, immediately feeling like that they were right at home with the buzzing of staff and patients all around them.
Many of then stopped when they saw the newly wedded couple enter hand-in-hand looking even more loved up, if possible, than they had been even before their wedding. Blue and Ethan were greeted with many wishes and 'congratulations' from those who were not at their wedding, with some of the nurses even gushing at Blue about her wedding dress that that they had seen in pictures that were posted by their friends and family.
It was not long before they had reached the top end of the atrium when Ethan had found himself being attacked by a hug.
"Ramsey, my man! You're back! I missed you so much!"
It took Ethan a moment to process who was hugging him before he rolled his eyes.
"Lahela, get off me."
