The buzzing of the Edenbrook crowd could be heard outside the glass doors of the diagnostics office, even late into the evening.

The diagnostics team had just wrapped up their last case for the day, having had back to back success on all of them. They had truly been working like a well-oiled machine over the last couple of weeks, and the hospital's board has been extremely pleased with the operations of the entire hospital as well.

In short, Edenbrook was thriving and everyone was looking forward to the launch of Ethan's second medical book in a few days, which was sure to bring in even more acclaim and benefits to the hospital.

"Are you sure you don't want me to drop you off at home before my meeting?" Ethan asked Blue as Tobias and Harper bid their goodbyes.

"Ethan, you're already late and it is the final meeting before your book launch." Blue told him in reply, shrugging off her doctors' coat and wearing her own blazer. "I will be fine, I can drop by at the grocery store to restock our fridge and get started on dinner in time for you to come back."

"Can't you get one of our friends to go with you?" Ethan pressed again, his eyes on his watch but yet concerned about his wife. "I really don't want you alone, not after what you told me."

"Our friends have their own things going on, and I am a grown woman." Blue chuckled, walking over to Ethan, taking his hand in hers gently. "I will be fine, baby. I'll call you if there's anything and when I reach home, alright?"

"Alright." Ethan grumbled, knowing there was no reasoning with his wife, not after she used that term of endearment with him.

Blue chuckled again softly, tip-toeing to press a sweet peck to his cheek before kissing his lips.

"Such a worrywart." she mumbled against his lips before pulling away, his arms around her still tight.

"Only for you." he replied with a roll of his eyes before letting her go. "Remember to call."

"Yes, sir." Blue saluted before making her way out as well.

The Boston night breeze was subtle as Blue made her way out of the T station. There was a gentle yet eerie quietness to the air as she tightened her black blazer around her.

It had been a few days since she had mentioned about the recurring odd feeling of someone following her to her husband, and he had not left her side once since then. Of course, however, now he had no choice but to tend to his important work and Blue completely understood that. Though naturally, the sense of safety and comfort she usually felt while he was around was amiss at that moment, and she could not wait to be back home, cuddling with Jenner while waiting for Ethan to come home.

Thankfully, the grocery store near their Back Bay condo was just down the street, and she set her eyes straight to the store, ignoring the trepidation trying to gnaw in the pits of her stomach as she heard the rustle of footsteps behind her.

She immediately picked up her pace, suppressed frustration urging her to do something more daring instead all of a sudden. Still swift, Blue deftly ducked into a narrow alley, just at the edge of the main street where the store was located.

She waited a beat... then two as her eyes widened at the shadow that grew bigger with each footstep that neared where she was.

Just as she saw the figure walk past, she pounced out of her hiding spot, using the full force of her body to throw against whoever that was - has been - following her these past few weeks.
