Afterglow
"We're getting married soon."

The radiance that remained in Miami's sky after it's sun had set the day before had been carried over to the next morning.
Early streams of sunlight made rainbow diamonds dance upon the canvas of the room where the newly engaged couple dozed after a long night of passion celebrating one of the biggest moments of their lives.
The crashing of the waves, the chattering of beach-goers and the lull of the breezing wind woke Blue up first. A smile instantly appeared on her face when she titled her head up to see her fiancé's handsome face, so peaceful and serene as he slept.
She was still in such a daze from whatever had transpired the night before that she had not stopped to think about how long Ethan had been keeping this to himself, planning every little aspect and detail of his proposal, for she knew that Ethan was meticulous, and someone who would want everything to be perfect.
The fact that he had gone as far as to getting her parents' blessings for their daughter's hand in marriage before doing anything else, showed the respect he had for her family as well as friends. Judging by Sienna's excited behavior and insistence on the beautiful rose gold dress she had picked out for her, Blue knew very well that her best friend was definitely in the know as well.
From pushing away people to protect himself, to willingly open up and confide in others when he cannot do it with her, Ethan had truly come a long way and Blue was immensely proud, and could not love the man she was going to lead the rest of her life with, any more than she already did.
Her eyes landed on the sparkling pink stone on her ring finger, resting right above Ethan's heart where her left hand was resting on. She has had fantasies of this moment since she was sure of her feelings for Ethan a long time back. However, those dreams always had come with uncertainties, all stemmed from what Ethan's view on marriage had been before.
Over time, each reservation of his had been removed layer by layer each time he talked it out and healed from his scars, and Blue knew that all cynic views that he had, were gone by the time Ines and Zaid's wedding had rolled around the year before. He had told her then that night, that if he was to ever have a future that entailed marriage, it would only be with her.
He definitely had came through with that promise, and Blue could only hope that Ethan could feel the amount of happiness he has made her feel from asking her that one question alone.
"It's not going to disappear if you take your eyes off it, you know?"
Ethan's gruff baritone broke Blue away from her thoughts, her smile growing slowly. She tilted her head up to press a soft kiss to his jaw.
"I can't stop looking at it." she said after a moment, her gaze drifting down to the ring again. "Last night still feels like it was all a dream."
Ethan chuckled, threading his fingers through hers, bringing his hand up to his lips and kissing each of her fingers.
"It was definitely real, Rookie."
"You couldn't have found a more perfect place for this, Ethan." Blue told him, nuzzling her head under his chin. "Everything seems to have come full circle."
"It's something that has been in my mind since Zaid and Ines' wedding." Ethan admitted. "I have imagined you walking down the aisle a thousand times since that moment you walked down as a bridesmaid. Though in my mind, you were wearing white instead."
