The day was here.

A day that seemed impossible for either of them to reach just a few years ago, was finally here.

Blue looked out her suite's window, the excitement and anticipation of her wedding day, having made her wake up earlier than she had expected to. She let the early morning breeze of Miami's waves hit her, a silent smile on her face.

It was surreal for her to even realize that she was getting married today, that too to the love of her life. Her life had been a complete whirlwind from the moment she had stepped foot into Boston four years ago, and back then, she had felt like a young, clueless girl, at the age of twenty six, navigating her life fresh out of med school.

However, to see her grow so much over the past almost four years, both as a person and a doctor, was heartening even for her ownself. Here she was now, as a twenty nine years old woman, having become an attending and just moments away from getting married.

Blue soaked up the solitude before the rest of her friends woke up and she had to get ready. Settling her pre-wedding nerves and adrenaline, she counted down the minutes she had to walk down the aisle to her lover.

Ethan felt the slightest of tremors as he did his bowtie, not wanting it to have even the slightest of imperfections on it.

He had been a bundle of nerves from the moment he had woken up that morning, the rush around him with his groomsmen and parents all getting ready for the wedding ceremony only adding onto the anticipation.

"Not getting cold feet, are you?"

Ethan turned to see his father entering the room, all clad in his own suit, looking dashing as ever even at his age.

"Trying not to." Ethan answered honestly. "You look great, Dad."

Alan chuckled, taking over the bowtie from his son, using his steady hands to fix it for him.

"It's the biggest day of your life, it would be more of a worry if you weren't nervous, son." Alan assured him. "All you need to do, is to keep reminding yourself of the long journey you and Blue have taken to get here, and know that it was all worth it. She is worth it."

"Blue's worth everything to me." Ethan agreed, his nerves settling a little as he smiled softly. "I just want everything to go well, today. She deserves nothing short of perfect."

"You have all of us to help make sure of that, Ethan." Alan reassured him once again as he watched Ethan put on his black inner vest before helping him into his coat. "You should not have to think about anything else but your bride today."

Ethan turned to face Alan again once his coat was adorned, watching as his father helped him with the last of the details, attaching the rose gold chain to his vest and coat and helped him wear the cufflinks he had gifted to him as well.

"I remember the day I got married to your mother..." Alan began softly. "It was one of the best days of my life. And when your mother left..."
