"Will you marry me."

If the first time Ethan had whispered those words into her ear did not stun her before, this time, after pouring his entire heart to her, they definitely did.

She looked down at the man she loved more than anything else in the world, so confident yet vulnerable at the same time.

The entire day he had been showering her with nothing but love, making her feel like she was the one most special entity in the world to him. To be in this place, the very same spot where everything changed for them from the moment their lips met each other's for the first time, and more than three years later they were here now, with Ethan down on one knee and asking her to become his wife.

They have brushed the topic of marriage and kids plenty of times before, and each time, his sentiment on them were always more positive than the previous time. At this point of their relationship, it was clear as day that they both wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other, have a family of their own, all while flourishing in their careers.

Ethan had promised all those one days of theirs to her.

And there was nothing more comforting to Blue then all those promises being reflected in his aquamarines, habouring all the love and affection he has held for her all these years.

"Yes."

Blue's voice cracked slightly as she whispered her answer, holding back an overwhelmed sob. Ethan was not sure if he had heard her right, and he waited for just a moment more.

"Yes!" she repeated, her voice louder this time as her tears fell freely now. "Of course I will marry you, Ethan."

Ethan let out a large exhale of breath, his face breaking out into a breathtaking smile as his own tears dropped onto his cheeks, and that was all it took for Blue to lean forward and take his face into her hands before crashing their lips together in a passionate kiss. Ethan pulled her into him, as much as he could while still on one knee.

He kept playing her answer, "Yes!", a million times in his mind, each time his heart racing a beat faster for her.

Blue held his face closer to her, and Ethan took it as a cue to stand, raising back up to his full height and completely engulfing her into his arms, her feet off the ground. Neither of them wanted to break the kiss, as if the tiniest space between them was too suffocating to bear.

However when the need for oxygen came, they had to break their kiss, panting profusely, foreheads pressed against each other's. Blue brushed the tears off Ethan's cheeks with the pad of her thumbs, pressing a soft kiss to his chin.

"I love you..." she said over a breathy whisper, her glassy emeralds boring into his aquamarines. "I know we've always talked about coming to this point 'one day', but I definitely did not expect this, and certainly not in this way. You've made this birthday the best I've ever had and the most special one. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

"And I can't wait to spend the rest of mine with you... as your husband." Ethan replied, the term sending a giddy feeling down both of them, and Blue pressed her face into his cheek, feeling heat rush up to her cheeks. "I love you too, Blue. And like I said the very first time, more than anything else in this world, and I mean it.
