You don't want inside of my brain
It's very dark and scary
The words that are circling call to you
Please be cautious and wary
Because those voices come out to say hi
They act like they'll be your friend
Then poof! They stab you with their words
You don't get a chance to say goodbye
But then you venture to the other side
The twists and turns are confusing
You don't know what way to go back
It makes you want off of this ride
There's one more part of my brain you see
It's bright and colorful
It has rainbows and puppies and sunshine
That's my favorite part of me
The optimistic little girl who was hurt
Who is desperate to stay in my brain
She tries to protect me for the other parts
The ones who treat me like dirt
So there's a glimpse of what it's like to be me
There's more to discover
The parts that are scary and not very nice
Are where only I can see
Take my word and stay away
Don't get to close, they'll bite
The voices, the maze, and the little girl
Might just lead you astray.
