Once again, the war maidens subdued the threat looming over the kingdom, their land of homes and people. and the people within those kingdom walls couldn't help but rejoice.
Tales of war maidens' triumph over the elemental forces had spread like wildfire and singing of praise by the people, children who acted like they were ones and dreamed of becoming one of those war maidens, igniting more of the sparkles of their victory to the world.
It became a tale for many folks to remember and tell the young.
And amidst the chatter of people, a certain blue-haired teen had other concerns – like how to sneak out to the academy without his family, especially his mother, finding out.
He did it now and his ears – despite his mother's warning – can't help but listen to the tales of victory as he walked.
Of course, the guardian action hadn't been out of their circle either.
"The guardian with them too!"
"My friend did say he also fought the tide back at Wei with master Cao Cao!"
"He was at Wu as well! Master Sun Cu and Master Sun Quan even celebrate their victory together! I saw it myself!"
"Oh man ~his title really fits well with his action! the guardian!"
Herumi's face grimaced at the reminder, as the words lingered, stirring him to recall that past celebration had burned his throat.
He would never drink any alcohol...EVER AGAIN!
"Not exactly fun," he muttered with a sigh, his presence at Wu was just a coincidence as he didn't even know where that Dryad boy brought him and the others to.
That and the two maidens of Wu were watching his every move like a hawk, at least he understood why – since he is still a mystery to them – but he did not exactly know their intention for it.
Master Sun Cu was the friendliest, which made him a tad uncomfortable and the intensity of master Sun Quan's cold stare sent a shiver down his spine.
The two sisters of Sun Clan were opposite of each other but Herumi felt like the former were even more...obscure. Sure she was friendly but she was also the closest to him, and hence, watched him as her sister did but with a friendly facade for cover, to make him drop his guard.
Or he was just being paranoid, he wasn't sure.
either way, the chatters continue to fill the street, Herumi walks back to the academy, ignoring the noise and conversation about War Maiden...and the likes.
But why does herumi go to the academy now you might ask?
After his short training with his new power – mostly testing it out – and receiving a precious gift from the old man Tang, Herumi intended to be done for the day and go back home...
Until the realization struck him like a lightning bold, something was amiss.
He had left two important scrolls containing information he would need about Jotunheim.
Sure, he could return to the academy later until his punishment was over, but like hell, he would abandon his hard-earned treasures there. No way!
He didn't risk his identity to almost being exposed for nothing. Nope, thank you very much.
he might get more lectures and even bigger punishment for coming home late...and worries his sisters since now they...care – as strange as it sounds – the scrolls he got from the Takenaka clan still push him forward.
