An Obvious Confession (request)

"Now who is ready to see the high flying swinging cats?! Gia and Alex!"

"Alex?"

"Hm?" Alex's ears twitched at that familiar Italian voice, turning his head to find his trapeze partner staring at him with worry. "Are you alright?" She asked him, noticing that he seemed nervous. "Oh yeah! I'm fine! Don't don't worry Gia" he assured her, glancing away from her. That was a lie.

He was nervous. Not from the show. From her. His partner. After almost a year of being in the circus. Spending the time falling for her but keeping that hidden from her. He had decided that tonight he was gonna tell her his feelings for her. Alex wanted it to be private between them. After their act, there would be several others to keep their friends busy, so that should be a good amount of time for him to talk to her alone.

As they reached the end of their act, the anxious lion waited near the curtains for Gia to come over. She was perched on one of the triplets as one of their acts. Once she arrived, she spotted him and smiled which made his heart fluttered from that stunning smile. He smiled nervously as he helped her down from the white gorse who cantered away to meet up with her sisters.

"Graci"

"Gia wait"

Before the jaguar could walk away, Alex gently grabbed her spotted paw. He didn't know how he had the courage to do that, but he did. Gia glanced at his larger paw, holding her smaller one as her brown eyes moved up to his.

Clearing his throat, he let go of her paw as he felt the level of nervousness built up in him. And it didn't help that she looked at him with curious brown eyes sparkling and staring at him. His throat went dry and the words were stuck. He had literally rehearsed and practice on what he was gonna say and now it went all in the drain.

"Alex" she said his name softly, noticing he seemed hesitant as she gently cupped his face. "Is there something in your mind, mio amico(my friend)?" She asked him as he blushed from her doing that. But he understood that she  did care about him. That's one of things he loved about her. Her care for others and willing to help as much as she can.

"Yeah" he told her, finding it easy to talk again as her paw slide off his cheek, making him miss that touch of her. But he had to keep focus. "Look, Gia. When I first saw you, I was immediately in awe of you. You were beautiful. But what struck me the most was you were to help me and my friends. Us. A bunch of strangers. And yet, you were willing to help. And how did I repay that? By lying to you. And using you" he explained, the last sentence with guilt and regret.

Alex wasn't trying to hurt anyone in the circus. He just wanted to get home. Not realizing that he had found his home until he almost lost it. "I wasn't trying to hurt you that time. But I did, and I regret it. When I arrived to the zoo, I realized that being there meant I wouldn't see you again. And that thought pained me" he said as she listened to him.

The look on her face when she found out hurt him more than anything. He never wanted to see that look on her face again, whether from him or something else. "All I know is that at that moment at the zoo. That moment at the trapeze rehearsal. I realized how much you meant me. How much I love you" he told her, finally letting out the big confession to her.

Gia's eyes widen, feeling her face get warm from that confession right now. "I know you probably don't feel that way after what happened that time. And you have every right to be. I'm probably way out of your league even. And-mph!"

Alex started to rambled on, thinking she wouldn't feel the same way about him after what happened that time. Suddenly, he was cut off when the jaguar pressed her lips against with a sneaky smirk on her face. His blue eyes widen in shock, not expecting the compassionate cat to make a move that bold. Then again, that's what he loved about her. She can be surprising.

Gia broke the kiss, giggling at the dumbstruck look on his face staring back at her. "I know, Alex. I know" she told him, revealing that she knew his feelings for her the whole time. His mouth dropped a little, wondering how she knew of his crush on her. But she beat him to it on that answer. "You make it very obvious. You know that" she told him with an amused smile as Alex glanced away embarrassed.

However, she turned his face back to her before resting her paws on his shoulders. "But I forgive you for that. And I love you, too" she told him openly, making him stare at her surprised. A smile formed on his face, glad to hear she held nothing against him for what happened and that she loved him somehow.

Before he could ask or say anything, a sneaky smirk came on her face, and she kissed him again. Alex, once again caught off again, gladly returned the kiss, wrapping his paws around her slim waist.

However, the curtain opened as their friends came from finishing their acts and they froze when they spotted the cats kissing. Alex and Gia didn't notice as they broke the kiss, smiling at each other affectionately.

"Um are we interrupting something?"

Their eyes widen and their heads turn to find their friends standing there once Marty broke the silence. Some were flustered, and nervous. Others were actually happy for the couple. Alex chuckled nervously as Gia giggled amusingly, wondering how they always wound up in this kind of thing.
