It was Fourth of July and the circus was setting up a firework show for their audience outside. The animals would watch the show from the floating big top which honestly had the best view.

"Come on guys! Let's go! Five minutes before the fireworks start!" Alex called out as the animals hurried up to the big top. He looked up and grabbed on a bar and pulled himself up. He got onto the floating big top and he saw his friends there, everyone excited for the firework show.

"Ok let's see if we have everyone" Alex told himself as he counted each of his friends. It looked like everyone was here until Alex realized one was missing. "Wait. Where's Gia?" He asked himself. The jaguar was nowhere in sight.

"What?" Alex said puzzled and surprised. He spotted Skipper and quickly went over to him "Hey Skipper how many minutes left until the fireworks start?" He asked the penguin. "Rico. Watch" Skipper ordered and Rico spat out a watch and Skipper looked at it. "You got three minutes Big Cat" Skipper told him.

'Three minutes? Where could Gia be?' Alex wondered and left the floating big top to find the jaguar. His eyes scanned around and his head turned left and right quickly, trying to find any sign of the jaguar.

"Oh hello Giant Freak!" Alex's ears twitched at Julian's voice and he spotted the lemur riding on Sonya's back. "Julian what are you still doing here? You need to be up with the others" Alex scolded him annoyed.

"Ok ok Giant Freak. So impatient" Julian said irritated. Alex sighed annoyed "Well I found you. Now I have to find Gia" Alex told him, his eyes scanning for her. "You mean the kitty with spots? She's up there" Julian told him and pointed to where the jaguar.

Gia was sitting on top of the floating big top. Alex's eyes widen "What the..? How did she get up there?" Alex wondered as he ran to the jaguar. Alex made it to the balloon but he wasn't sure how to get up there.

He looked at his paws. He could retract his claws to climb but that would risk getting the float popped and that would be a bad idea. "How did she get up there?" Alex asked himself as he scanned for any other way up. His eyes spotted a trampoline and an idea came up.

Meanwhile, Gia was up on top of the big top, sitting cross legged, the jaguar waiting excited for the fireworks.

"WHOOA!"

Gia's ears twitched at Alex's voice and she turned her head around and saw the lion in the air for a moment and he fell back on the ground. Alex was bouncing on the trampoline, trying to get on the big top.

Gia laughed as the lion struggled to get on the big top. Finally, Alex manage to latch on the big top without using his claws. Alex started to slide down though but he manage to quickly get his entire body on top of the big top.

Alex lied on his back and he turned his head to Gia who covered her mouth to hold her laughter. "Hi" he said awkardly.

Gia chuckled at him as Alex stood up and walked on all fours to her and sat next to her. "Alex what are you doing here?" She asked him puzzled and surprised.

"I was looking for you. I noticed you weren't inside the big top so I thought I look for you so you wouldn't miss the fireworks" Alex told her.

"You were worried for me?" She asked him. Alex had to admit he was a little worried about her. "Yeah" he told her and Gia smiled at him, touched he was worried about her and even went looking for her.

"Aww that's sweet of you Alex" she told him, making him blush. But Alex recalled how he wanted to ask her why she was up here. He looked at the jaguar.

"But what are you doing up here?" He asked curious, tilting his head.

"Well I thought here would be a nice view for the fireworks. So I climbed up here" she explained to him. "Oh" Alex said, understanding now why she was up here.

BOOM! BOOM!

The two cats got spooked and turned to the sky. The fireworks have started.  Gia got so startled she grabbed onto Alex's arm. Alex blushed deep pink and he smiled shyly. Gia didn't notice at first but she calmed down and her eyes shone in wonder at the fireworks, a smile coming up on her face.

Her grip on his arm relaxed and she rested her head on his shoulder. Alex froze a bit but when his eyes moved to look at her, she caught him looking at her and she smiled at him, her eyes sparkling from the firrworks.

Alex relaxed and smiled back at her and he rested his head on tops of hers. the two cats enjoying the fireworks.
