Hearts and Spots

Alex was in his cart, lying on his bed. He was using his finger to paint something on a card. Today was Valentine's Day and Alex wanted to make a gift for Gia. "There!" He said happy looking at his finished work. It was pink heart shape valentine card with paper roses all over the heart's edges. Inside the card had some neon purple jaguar spots painted on it and in the middle, Alex wrote "Happy Valentine's Day Gia" in neon purple

He stared at smiling but then his frowned as he stood up. "No not good enough" he said disappointed. "Gia is the most amazing girl I've ever met. The card has to be just as amazing her" he said rubbing the back of his mane, trying to come up with another idea.

"Hey Alex!" Marty's voice came up and some knocking on the door. "You ok there Alley Al? Gia's waiting for you at the trapeze" Marty and Alex's eyes got big "Our rehearsal! I completely forgot!" He said panic as he hid the card in his mane and ran in a hurry.

Gia made a flip and grabbed the bar with her paws, she got to the platform and held the bar. "Gia!" She turn to look down and saw Alex climbing up the stairs in a hurry. "What's the rush? Isn't that a little risky to climb up so fast?" She asked him as he got to the top, out of breath. She noticed something pink sticking out of his mane.

"What is that?" She asked eyeing it curiously. Alex's eyes looked at it and they got huge. He quickly pushed it back in a panic and smiled nervously at Gia. "Um lets get practicing!" He said excited and loud. Alex grabbed a bar and jumped off the platform. Gia looked at him wierd with a raised eyebrow but she shrugged it off and just decided to practice.

The two cats did some flips and twirls on the trapeze. Alex was trying to avoid landing upside down. He was worried that being upside down would make the card slip out of his mane and then Gia would see it. So he really wanted to avoid that.

But then Alex made a small mistake. He did a flip for the next bar. The only problem the timing of the flip made it impossible to land with his paws this time. His legs latched onto the bar and he was now upside down. The card started slipping out of his mane and was peeking out. "Huh?" Gia was upside down on the other bar and she noticed the pink card peeking out.

Suscpious, she quickly to another bar. She landed on the bar like it was a platform, her paws clutching to the ropes om the bar and she leaped off it so quickly and onto another bar upside down, swinging to Alex's direction.

Before the lion had a chance to react on her coming, the jaguar snatched the pink paper out of his mane. "Hey!" Alex said as he struggled to try and change his position so he could face the jaguar. Gia opened the card and she gasped at it. "This is so pretty!" She said smiling, her eyes looked at every detail of the card, the paper roses, the painted spots. Her eyes caught the writing

"Happy Valentine's Day Gia" it read. She blushed a little but smiled sweetly. She felt touched that Alex made her card especially one this pretty.

"Alex did you make this?" She asked, looking at him, the lion was still struggling and he finally gave up, now he was dangling upside down to the jaguar. "Yes but I wanted to get you something better. Something...just as amazing as you" Alex told her, hesitating at the last part, his eyes avoiding hers.

Gia stared at him surprised at what he said about calling her amazing. Slowly, smirk got up on her face. She swung back and forth slowly and her paw latched onto Alex's bar. Alex's ears twitched when he felt the bar getting pulled.

She pulled the bar to her and Alex found his face inches from hers as she smiled at him. She giggled at seeing him still upside down and it was kinda funny. "Your card is amazing enough for me. Graci Alex" she told touched and Alex felt his heart melt at her thanks. He smiled at her but one thing sure he didn't see what was coming.

Gia leaned her head so fast and she pecked the lion on the lips. Alex blushed pink and he stared at her surprised. He was definitely not expecting that. She just smiled at him, giggling at his expression "Happy Valentine's Day Alex" she told him before letting go of his bar and swinging back, away from him. Alex found his bar swining away and he quickly took the chance to get off and onto the platform. Gia jumped off her bar and got onto the other platform.

Their backs were facing to eachother. Alex let out a breath, not realizing he was holding it during that kiss. He smiled a little, not believing what just happen. Gia felt her heart beat from that one little kiss she gave him. 'It was Valentine's Day so why not?' She said in her head. She started smiling a bit and slowly turn her head to look at Alex. She then turn away and started climbing down.

Alex turned and looked at her leaving. He smiled at her dreamily "That was way better than I expected" he said feeling happy as he climbed down the trapeze.
