okay

"Are you okay?" they asked so kind,
She swallowed hard, her feelings confined. Ignoring SOS alarms, her heart's cry,
She mustered a smile and whispered,
"I'm alright."

"What?" they questioned, sensing a disguise,
She raised her voice, repeating her lies.
With a tongue that danced in the art of deceit,
"I said I'm okay," she said, in defeat.

Yet within, emotions waged a fierce fight, She longed to share her inner night. Wearing headphones, a sad playlist on repeat,
Tears masked her vision as her pain ran deep.

She is not okay.

But found no voice to light the way.
She knows the gravity of words when they are said aloud.
Words were solemn in her deserted heart and it was dying as she faded into darkness.
It's a metaphor...
