So I tried to post this chapter once, but it got wiped and didn't work. So that was frustrating. But I tried to remember everything I wrote.
Enjoy.....

Sydney's POV

The next few weeks are some of the best of my life. I've finally found my groove in this city, and not just because I have a boyfriend. But he makes me happy, and then I see August happy with Michael. They're official, but they sneak off together any chance they can get. They think we don't notice, but we do.

One night I'm just hanging out at Ashton's place, semi-cuddling, on the verge of falling asleep, when I feel the urge to get something off my chest that I've wanted to tell him. Or, I guess ask him.

"Hey Ashton?" I say, stirring both of us out of our half asleep states. I face him so I can gauge his reaction to what I'm about to say.

"What's up?" He says, sitting up at my tone.

"I've just wanted to find the perfect way to tell, or ask, or... I don't know."

His dimples poke out, my tounge jumbling into even more of an exasperated mess. "Slow down, what's wrong?" His brow furrows with concern.

"I want you to meet my brother." I turn my voice up at the end of my sentence, slightly turning it into a question.

He demeanor immediately shifts into something I've never seen before. He sits up very rigid, his eyes bug open a little bit and slightly dart around. He's nervous.

"Are you scared?" I ask, wondering if he's ever seen me in the current state he's in.

"I mean, a little....." His voice slightly cracks, causing me to hold my mouth to keep my giggles inside.

"Why?" I just ask, so thrown off by this polar opposite attitude that I need to know.

"I don't know. It's just, he's your brother. He obviously means more to you then anyone else. He's your brother." Ashton explains, my heart melts at the sight of him that scared shitless, for all the right reasons.

I stare at the small silver clock sitting on his bedside table, factor in the 16 hour time difference fairly quickly considering how much times I've done it, and stare back at him.

"Ok, don't freak out but, do you want to meet him now?"

He obviously freaks out, then stares at he clock behind me. "But it's midnight!"

"It's midnight here. But over there it's eight in the morning. Alex is such an early bird, he'll be awake."

"Ummmm." His eyes dart around a little more. "Uuuhhhhh." Then he looks at me and his green based hazel eyes soften. "Okay. Yeah. Let's do this."

I excitedly grab my phone off the nightstand and hum to myself while I unlock it and tap the phone icon.

Ashton plasters a nervous smile to his face when I hold up my phone to my ear. A metallic buzzing lightly echoes through the phone and the first ring connects. Right when I think it's going to voicemail, I hear the voice of my incredibly tall, recently stubble ridden baby brother.

"Hello?" He dully asks, more like a statement.

"Babe...." I breathe out in content sigh, a smile breaking across my lips.

"Hey babe..." He immediately sounds nervous at what I'm assuming is the realization his sister is on the line. But I'm not sure why he's nervous.

"What's going on Alex?" I ask incriminatingly.

"I'm sorry. It was one D. I promise it's the teachers fault. I've been kicking butt in that class all semester." He pleads for forgiveness before I even fully comprehend what the heck he's talking about.
