ASHTON'S POV

Friday can't come fast enough.

During band practice I can't focus on the drums. I play the right rhythms, but my timing couldn't be more off. Luke will start singing, but instead of hearing his voice I hear her voice sliding through the song Valarie with her raspy undertones.

I don't think I've ever heard a voice quite like hers. It's bluesy, yet clean. It's pure, yet there's so much pain that conveys through any lyric she sings. After we left that night, I couldn't stop talking about her to the other guys. I told them I've never heard anyone sing the way she does. She was just so genuine. A real musician.

I really hope she shows up on Friday. I need to see her again, because it's not just her singing voice, she's all-around amazing.

"ASH!" Luke yells, breaking me out of my trance.

"Sorry..." I mumble.

Michael just comes over and puts an arm around me. "Cut the guy some slack, he's just thinking about his girlfriend." He jumps away before I can punch him and makes kissing noises.

I hurl a drumstick at him, smacking him pretty hard in the arm. "She's not my girlfriend. I barley even know her." Michael continues with the kissing noises until Calum slaps a hand over his mouth.

"Can we please just get back to rehersing?!" He asks, giving Michael a death stare.

"Gladly..." I mumble under my breath.

"What was that?" Luke asks

"I heard Sydney." Michael jumps in.

"That's it!" I get up from the drum set and plop onto one of the couches in Luke's garage.

"Oh now you've done it Michael." Luke says plopping next to me.

"I don't know why we're sitting but I like it." Calum says, plopping next to Luke.

"C'mon guys. You know I'm just teasing." Michael pleads, motioning for us to stand up. "Really? Are you seriously gonna act like your five? Get up, we have rehersing to do."

"Nope. I'm on strike until you admit she's not my girlfriend, and stop teasing me about her." I say, rolling my sticks across the floor until they land at Michael's feet.

"Fine, she's not your girlfriend." He kicks the sticks back my way.

I pull out my phone and say, "That's not all. Continue."

He sighs heavily, "And I'll stop teasing you about it.."

"Alright let's do some rehersing!" I excitedly pop off the couch, happy that the topic has shifted off me.

Luke and Calum just laugh at my mood change. They both stand up and we actually rehearse for the rest of the time.
