Sydney's POV

White lips
Pale face
Breathing in the snowflakes

"Uuuuugggg..." I groan, pressing the call button only to shut up my phone.

I just hang up right away and throw a pillow over my head. It rings again.

White lips pale-

"Hello?" I answer groggily.

"My head hurts, do you have any aspirin?" August whines.

"Auggie, I can literally hear you out in the living room, why did you call me?"

"I didn't want to come in there and wake you up..." I groan at her childish behavior. "But seriously, I have a massive hangover and I need medicine!"

"Yeah yeah..." Muttering, I get out of bed and stand in my doorway. "Really Auggie?"

She's sprawled out on the couch, with the blanket laid out lazily around her. Her face is buried in a pillow, hair spread out like a fan. She lifts her head up and contorts her face.

"Aspirin...please!" Very obviously I roll my eyes at her and walk to the kitchen.

The small pill bottle sits at the front of my medicine cabinet, so I dump out two pills and get a glass of water.

"Here you go, whiner baby." I say, setting them down with a particularly loud clank on the coffee table.

She squeezes her eyes shut at the noise and takes the pills, guzzling down the water. "Your are lifesaver!" Giving a thumbs up, she throws her head back down on the pillow.

I jerk the cushion out from under her head, with much protest from August. "Not so fast, I have to go to work soon. So all this." I guesture to the mess she's made in my living room. "Needs to dissappear ASAP." I turn and walk back into my room. "I'm going to take a shower, feel free to make yourself at home." I turn around. "Oh wait. YOU ALREADY HAVE!" Slamming the door, I hear her groan.

Gathering my materials for my shower, I hear my phone go off. Disconnecting it from the charger, I reluctantly pick up, not bothering to check the caller ID.

"August, I swear to god if this is you..." I threaten.

"It's not nice to swear! Though I'm glad not to be her right now.."A familiar voice chuckles.

"Hey Ashton...Sorry, I didn't check the caller ID." Even though he can't see me, I fix my hair.

"Yeah, I kinda got that. But I mean, maybe it is August, maybe it got all 'Freaky Friday' up in here and she's secretly stuck in my body." Now I laugh.

"Smooth moves Ashton."

"Thank you, I genuinely pride myself on how I handle awkward phone calls." He says sarcastically. My eyes drift to the clock.

"Shit." I mumble under my breath, quietly enough so he can't hear me. Or so I think.

"Profanities!" He shouts.

"Sorry. It's just I really gotta start getting ready for work, can we talk later?"

"Let me guess, you just got out of bed?" He says quizzically.

"I can practically smell your judgement." I say flatly.

"Hey, no judgement here, I can say with pride that I've slept in much later then this."

"Well, in my defense, August and I did stay up pretty late." I see the clock again. "But I really do gotta go, call you later!" And I hang up.

Ashton's POV

I lay back on the bed, phone in my right hand. I'm kind of insulted she hung up without me so much as getting a goodbye. But it was great hearing her voice. Her cute american voice, with just a hint of country twang hanging in it.

It might sound cheesy, but her voice makes me want to visit Wyoming. Just so I can hear everyone talk the way she does. Yet, at the same time, I never want to hear another voice like hers, out of fear that I won't remember exactly what I loved about hers.

Luke brings me out of my trance when he throws a pillow at my bare chest.

"Put on a shirt, we've got company." I hear Cal's mum out in the living room.

I pick a sleeveless black tank from my dresser. "So who were you on the phone with?" Luke asks, plopping on my bed.

"None of your business, that's who." I retort, scooting him over as I pull on some socks.

"Bet it was Sydney." He dashes out of the room and I throw a pillow at him but miss.

"Better not be damaging my Lukey!" Calum's mother calls, dragging a smiling Luke held by a pinched cheek back into my room.

I rise from the bed and give her a hug. Suddenly I'm embarrassed by the mess I've collected over the past couple months. Her warmth is so homely and good. Cal's mum is just one of those mothers that everyone gravitates to. She's an incredible woman and mother to her kids.

"So how have you been?" She asks, keeping an arm draped over my shoulders.

"Really good actually. Bands good, jobs good, life's good. What about you?"

She turns to genuinely smile at me. "I've been wonderful!" She squeezes me and takes a couple large strides out of the room, Luke and I follow closely behind.

"I'll let Calum stay for the week. It's summer so it's not like school is getting in the way." His mum grabs her purse. "Come here sweetheart." He takes her son into her arms and sloppily kisses his whole face.

"Mum...." Cal protests, but is silenced by one final kiss in the lips from his mum.

"Goodbye love, I'll be back bright and early next Saturday to get you!" And with that his mum was gone.
