"Would you like to eat or would you prefer to read one more chapter first?"

None of them were in the mood to eat after what they had just read, they would probably find it hard to swallow.

"Let's read one more chapter," Lord Nott replied as he asked for the book, hopefully the chapter would be lighter and lighten the mood a bit or distract them. "Chapter fourteen: Christmas on Privet Drive.

Harry had created a line, one that his friends wouldn't let them get close to. He had done it without realising it, after the Quidditch match after he had heard Ron's words, they had seemed to have gotten into his head so strongly in the night.

He had stopped meeting them during the night in the space created by Adhara's pendant; the chats with them throughout the day had also diminished. Everyone had noticed that, everyone except him.

However his friends didn't want to push him either, they didn't want to make things even more awkward so they gave him time. Time for him to tell them himself what was going on with him, what he was hiding from them and why he had kept a distance from them.

Harry had thought about taking the pendant off for a moment due to Ron's comments one night, he had been on the verge of taking it off but in the end decided to do so. It was to protect him. Professor Snape might have tried to hurt him, but they hadn't done anything. Maybe they didn't know, or maybe they did. He hoped they didn't.

Harry didn't seem to remember the words Adhara had said to him the afternoon after his first Potions class. He seemed to have forgotten.

Severus Snape knew his mother and mourned her death."

"And that was a bit quite contradictory to what we read before," Rabastan mentioned with a raised eyebrow.

"You could say that's how the others saw the situation or how it really was, the previous chapter was from Hadrian's perspective," replied Hermione.

They had decided to give space to him and Hermione, who had stopped wearing gloves and could sometimes be seen again with her hair down, but that didn't stop him from feeling sad and uncomfortable.

Lucien missed talking to Harry, missed not having him around when they were all together. It was as if something was missing.

There was also that thing Alistair had said to him during his selection. He hadn't given it much thought at first, to be honest he'd even forgotten about it, but seeing Harry's distancing from them Alistair's words came to him.
