The sun was setting behind the water, and the lake was calm. A few people would walk by, but it seemed to be rather quiet today.

I sat on the edge, leaning my back against the pillar as I let out a deep breath and closed my eyes, taking in the peaceful atmosphere. The gentle breeze brushed against my skin, carrying the faint scent of blooming flowers from the nearby gardens. I hear a faint voice call out my name, breaking the tranquilly of the moment. Startled, I opened my eyes and turned to see a familiar face approaching me with a smile. "Y/n! Hey, what are you doing here?" Caitlyn asked, her voice filled with curiosity. I smiled back at her and replied, "I needed some time alone to clear my head. It's been a hectic week." Caitlyn nodded understandingly and gestured for me to join her on a nearby bench. "Well, you picked the perfect spot for some peace and quiet. Mind if I join you?" she asked kindly.

I take a seat next to her and say, "Of course not". The truth is, work had been piling on me; I had no time left to do anything but work.

"Is something bothering you?" Caitlyn asked, her eyes filled with concern. I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I should open up to her. But her genuine kindness and understanding made me feel comfortable enough to share my worries. "Actually, yes," I admitted, my voice tinged with exhaustion. "Work has been overwhelming lately, and I feel like I'm drowning in deadlines. It's been hard to find a balance and take care of myself." Caitlyn takes a moment to think, "Mmmm, that's hard..." We sat in silence for a minute.

A slight breeze picked up and rustled the leaves in the trees, adding a calming presence to our conversation. The sound of nature provided a gentle backdrop as Caitlyn leant in closer, her expression filled with empathy. "You know I can always help, right?" Her smile was sweet and genuine, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the overwhelming workload. "Whether it's assisting with some of your tasks or simply being there to listen, remember that you don't have to face this alone." I smile at the girl and rest my head on her shoulder, looking out at the water.

The gentle breeze rustled through the trees, carrying away some of the stress that had been weighing me down. Caitlyn's presence was like a soothing balm, bringing a sense of comfort and reassurance. As we sat there in silence, I couldn't help but feel grateful for her unwavering support and understanding.

"Thank you," I whisper, staring out at the lake as the sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow over the water. The beauty of the moment mirrored the warmth I felt in my heart, knowing that I had someone by my side who truly cared.
