Cassandra's POV:

The morning unfolded with an ethereal quality, as if the very fabric of reality had been woven with threads of magic. Once again, the gentle rays of the sun roused me from my slumber, and I found myself in a world where the impossible had become our daily norm.

In the quiet moments that followed, I lay beside Ivan, his bare back exposed to the soft sunlight that filtered through the curtains. He was the comforting warmth beside me, the man who played the role of my husband in this enchanting realm.

My thoughts drifted back to the previous night, a night of unexpected closeness and shared ease. But as I observed Ivan, I couldn't help but be drawn into a trance, admiring the contours of his form. He lay there, peacefully asleep, devoid of the world's burdens, and for a moment, I lost myself in silent admiration.

"Did you not enjoy the view?" Ivan's husky voice interrupted my reverie, pulling me from my thoughts.

"What view?" I feigned innocence, trying to hide the fact that I had been quietly observing him as he slept.

"Did you not enjoy watching me sleep?" Ivan playfully remarked, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

A blush crept up my cheeks; he had caught me red-handed.

"I absolutely was not."

"You most certainly were," he replied, smoothly shifting our positions. Now, he hovered over me, my hands resting on his bare chest.

"What are you doing?" I nervously inquired as I saw him draw nearer. I closed my eyes, anticipating something that didn't quite happen.

His warm breath brushed against my ear. "It's indeed a lovely morning, my dear wife," he whispered, causing me to open my eyes as he withdrew.

What had just occurred? I pondered this question while lying in bed, the memory of his proximity lingering in the air.

"Sweetheart, go freshen up. We'll have breakfast, and then there's someone I'd like you to meet," he said with a soft smile before leaving the room.

I swiftly rose from bed, grateful for the newfound mobility I had gained in this world. I no longer required assistance, a testament to the wonders of this dimension. After getting ready, I was about to step out when the door suddenly swung open, causing me to stumble forward.

"It appears you can't resist falling for me," Ivan teased, his playful demeanor on full display.

"No, it's entirely your fault. How was I supposed to know you were about to open the door?" I replied with a hint of annoyance, although the twinkle in his eyes made it challenging to hold onto my irritation for long.

We continued our playful banter, completely unaware of the presence of another individual who had been quietly observing our exchange.

"Oh, come on, Ivan, it's all your doing," I heard a familiar voice. I turned to locate the source and immediately recognized the intruder from the previous day.

"YOU?" I exclaimed, to which Weston smiled sheepishly.

"Love, allow me to introduce my dearest friend, Weston Hayes Ashford," Ivan said, encircling his arms around my waist and drawing me closer to him.

I scrutinized Weston's face, attempting to recall why he appeared so familiar. Then it struck me; he was Eliza's older brother, the one who, in my world, had tragically passed away at a very young age.

"Ivan?" I interrupted their conversation.

"Yes, love?"

"When will Eli and Kay be back?" I asked, my concern for Eliza and the need for her to meet Weston weighing on my mind.

"In maybe two days," Ivan replied, recognizing my expression and the worry etched on my face. I nodded in acknowledgment.

"You two carry on with your conversation; I'll arrange for breakfast," I said, stepping out of the room.

Walking away, a profound sense of gratitude enveloped me. In this world where cherished individuals from my past thrived, I experienced an unmistakable feeling of belonging. It was as though I had discovered my sanctuary, a realm where love and connections transcended the limitations of reality.

A few minutes later, I found myself standing just outside the room, gazing at Ivan as his laughter enveloped me like the sweetest melody. I was in awe of this man, of his capacity to stir such profound emotions within me. Whether or not this constituted love in its conventional sense, one thing remained crystal clear: Ivan Hausen Crawford occupied a special place in my heart, and there was no one else in this world or any other who could elicit these emotions within me so profoundly.
