FLASHBACK

The sun was beginning to set as I stood at the crossroads of my life. I was finally ready to let go of my happy ending.

I had been dreaming about it for as long as I could remember, but it was time for me to face reality. I had spent so much of my life chasing after it, but it was never going to come true.

The path I had been on for so long had led me here, and it was time to say goodbye. I had been so sure that this was the way that I should go, but now I saw that I had been wrong.

"Cyline?"

The worried face belonged to Cyline's mother. She had just received her test results back from their family's doctor, which is also the doctor of her brother Cyrus, and it wasn't what she'd hoped for. Cyline had done everything to avoid it to happen, but it still wasn't enough because now it's her time and she doesn't want to accept it..

Her parents had always put a lot of effort into preventing this kind of inheritance within the family, and now she was afraid of what they were going to say when she told them about her test results. She was worried it would bring a lot of pain again for them.

She tried to calm herself down, but it was hard. She was so afraid of how her parents would react.

She slowly walked into the living room, where her parents were sitting. She held her test results in her hands, but she couldn't bring herself to tell them that easily.

Finally, her father noticed the worried expression on her face.

'What's wrong, anak?' he asked.

Cyline slowly handed her father the test, her eyes downcast. Her father looked at the test results and then looked back at her.

She waited, but instead of being shocked, she saw the worries in her father's eyes.

'It's ok,' he said, smiling. "We'll find a way na ma prevent natin ang maaaring mangyari like before. Don't worry, we are always here for you..'

She felt a wave of sadness wash over her. She had been so worried, but her father's understanding words made her feel better.
