I'll fly.

One day I'll have the courage
To spread my great wings
And fly.
They'll be soft and yet strong,
Covered in feathers as white as heaven.
They'll bring hope
into those who need it,
And fear into those who cause it.

One day I'll fly.

Until then I will grasp these dirty rocks,
That spit and crumble into my eyes,
As I climb this pit of despair,
Full with misery and fear and anger,
That begs to pull me further.
Until then I will climb these old walls,
That break beneath my fingertips,
And when I reach the top,

Only then will I fly.
