First Love.

With tears on my cracked phone screen,
And fingers shaking,
I had typed my final goodbye.
Almost 2 years of time
Spent begging for your
Attention,
Affection,
Empathy,
Compassion,
Yet never given,
Was wasted
On someone I loved so dearly
Yet never loved me back.

I gave everything I had.
Everything.
My virginity,
My friends,
My family.
My whole heart
I placed into your hands.
You crushed it.
Threw it on the floor
And stumped the last sparkle out.
Like a cigarette butt,
Just another piece of trash.
All I ever got in return
Was a disapproved look
For not giving more.
