Dear Future Me

I spent the entire night tossing a turning barely getting any sleep

Because of the nightmare I had

I was at the Halloween party dancing

And for some reason, I couldn't feel my toes, feet or legs.

Suddenly I realized in horror that my body was melting into a pool of warm gooey chocolate.

And even though I was desperate screaming for help, everyone at the dance just ignored me.

Boy, was I relieved when I realized it was all just a silly nightmare.

I was in the library writing in my diary well pretending to be studying when Brandon walked in.

I was surprised to see him. Especially since it seemed like he'd been avoiding me the past few days.

Brandon placed a stack of books on the front desk and kind of hesitated like he was a little nervous or something. Then finally he walked up to me.

"So um.... how's the Halloween dance coming?"

"Haven't you heard Mackenzie quit. And me and my friends decided to resign.

Brandon folded his arms and sighed "I hope it goes well"

He looked disappointed and that bothered me. I just gave him a sympathetic smile hoping to cheer him up.

Brandon glanced at the library window like our conversation was boring. I followed his gaze but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary as I looked back at Brandon.

Soon we were talking about school and stuff. That went on until he smiled at me with a shy like and stared right into my eyes.

I wonder if I was imagining it or was I just hoping.

Of course I got embarrassed

Then it got quiet, again we could hear the clock ticking.

I think he felt a little embarrassed too, because he bit his lip and started to look around.

Suddenly he slapped his forehead and gave me a weird look.

"Oh right I almost forgot what I came here for?"

What did you come here for? I couldn't figure out why...

"I came in here to ask if you'd go to the dance with me?"

Just as I was about to stand up, it felt like time stopped or froze in place. I was so stunned.

I thought I heard it wrong at first

I could NOT believe my ears

"Did I hear you correctly?" a dumbfounded look on my face.

"Yeah I did"

"Umm... well sure, I guess" as I played with my sleeve crumbling it.

I was trying to act nonchalant but everything was shown on my face.

"Cool" Brandon said nodding his head and looking a little relieved as he touched his neck.

I couldn't help but smile as I looked at his nervous face.

"Well, I better get going. See you in bio"

"Ya bye" as I smiled well he walked away.

I was so happy that I couldn't help smiling ear to ear once he left, like a fool.

Soon Chloé and Jenny arrived

I was dying to them

When I told them about how Brandon asked me to the dance and we all cheered together.

Luckily they both got asked by Jason and Ryan, so I didn't feel to bad.

The next step was to find a Halloween outfit.
