Forgiving Mr. Alpha

River on the River

I ran as fast as my legs could take me. 

"River!" I continued to shot as the tears threatened to spill from my eyes. My body was burning with pain but my mind was telling me to keep going. Our eyes connected and I slowed down. He looked at me with aw. I walked silently to him. I heard the current next to me and it occurred to me what he wanted to do. A current like that could pull you under really quickly and you wouldn't be able to get back up. River stepped down from the bridge and made his way to me. Tears spilled from his eyes as he grabbed my and pulled me into a hug. I began to cry to. I knew he wasn't really my mate, but he was to me. He pulled away and looked at me like I wasn't really there with him. He touched my face and I smiled at him. 

"Is it really you?" He asked. I nodded my head silently. That's when the moment I dreaded came. He began to lean forward and I could hear my wolf screaming with joy inside of me. 

'He still rejected us.'

'He is our mate! He wants us! We need him, Aria!'

'No. we. Don't!' I pulled out of his grip and walked away as he called after me. 

"Aria, what are you doing?!" he exclaimed as he made his way towards me. I turned to face him with a stern face. 

"River, I don't want you dead. But I am also not your mate anymore. You rejected me so there is no need for kissing. You showed me your gratitude and I have accepted it. There is no need for anything else."

"But-but I thought..." He said as the hurt returned to his eyes. 

"You thought wrong. You are not forgiven, Mr.Alpha. You are my Alpha and I am just another wolf in you pack." I turned and began to walk away. 

"Follow me, your pack is worried." I could almost feel his tears on his shoulders and my wolf was begging me to go back to him and to make him ours.

'He wants us, Aria! What more of an apology do you need. He has begged for our love. Why can't you give it to him?'

'Do you remember what he did to us?! He broke us. We cried for a year over that asshole. And now he has the nerve to think that it's okay. Not to mention what he said to us after what Ryan told him! He believed him instead of listening to his 'mate'. So I'm not listening to a stupid word that idiot says and I will not let you control me! Is that understood?' There was silence and I knew she had left. She would thank me in the long run. We made it to the pack house and I walked through the front door. In an instant Laci and Megan were by my said bombarding me with questions.

"What happened?"

"Are you okay?"

"We missed you!"

"We're so sorry we let that happen to you!"

"Where were you?" they asked one after the other? I laughed at them and continued into the house. 

"I'm fine girls. I'm back to normal again. No need to be sorry about anything and I just had to go get River." Speak of the devil, River walked in with an angry look on his face. He walked straight through us, bumping shoulders with me as he did. The girls gave me a look and I knew they wanted to know what happened.

"Follow me." I said with a sigh and we made my way to my room.

"Spill." Laci said and I laughed. I told them what happened and the girls seemed very intrigued by this 'schandle.' 

"So, what are you going to do? I thought coming back her was for revenge." Laci said. 

"But I think she has given him enough 'revenge'. At least don't let him hurt so badly."  I told them about Ryan, rape story and all, and they had teary as at the end of it.

"We didn't know. And River didn't even listen to you?"

"Well, he did eventually. But it's the thought that he would even think I would do that. It make me made that he thought so low of me. And he wouldn't listen. Isn't that what mates do? They listen to each other."

"Aria, you can't live you life like this. You need your mate just as much as he needs you. It's only a matter of time before ya'll fall together." Megan says. The scary part was, she was right. River and I would end up together. It was the Moongoddess' plan from the start. It's only a matter of time before River and I fall in love. 

Maybe we all ready are.
