Forgiving Mr. Alpha

Fight Night

I took a deep breath in. 

"Okay, Okay. We can totally work this out with them. There's no reason to fight." I explained. River gave a half-hearted laugh.

"Aria, that's not how this works. If they want to fight, we fight to keep them from the pack house." He told me. I nodded my head. Okay. Okay... I can so do this. 

Three large wolf figures extended from the trees. Their shadows danced on the ground in front of them. They were all skinny and black. Their fur was ungroomed and messy with stickers and sticks hanging out. Their yellowed teeth showed as they raised their lips for a deep, frightening growl. They each lifted their feet in harmony and their shoulders moved in sync. The middle wolf, no doubt the leader, looked into my eyes with his deadly green ones. I sucked in a breath but couldn't remove my eyes from his. 

"Go Aria." River said in a protective tone. 

"And leave you here to face them by yourself? Um, no!" I said. "If you're doing this, so am I."

"Does that mean we're friends?" He asked slightly hopeful. Are we friends? After what he did and said to me? I think not! 

"No, it means I want to protect the pack house just as much as you do. My friends and family are in there. No way I'm letting them get hurt." Good answer!

'Don't be so heartless! He wants us!'

'Shut up!'

The wolves were getting closer and closer.

"You need to leave, Aria."

"I'm not going anywhere." I said. "I have your back if you have mine." I said. We had to work as a team if we were going to win this. 

"Where are all the guards?" I asked. River gave me a shy look.

"They have the night off." He whispered. I rolled my eyes. Of course, of all the nights this had to be their day off! 

River jumped into action in his wolf form and I quickly followed. I glared at the leading wolf but my glare was cut short when one of the wolves jumped at me. I quickly guarded myself and bite the wolves neck. 

Everything went quickly. I jumped at the wolf and clawed at him viciously. He bit my leg and I cried out in agony. Blood dripped from my paw.

'We'll be okay! I promise. We can get through this.'

'But it hurts!'

'We can do this!'

I charged at the wolf a got my teeth around its thick neck and I bit down. The wolf cried out but I just bit harder. It fell to the ground.

'I just killed a wolf...' I felt dirty, like I was as bad person. I heard a cry and I turned around. It was River! He had two wolves surrounding and he was on the ground in pain. I ran to his rescue. I jumped onto one of the wolves and bit and clawed him as hard as he could. It was like something took over me when I saw it hurting River. The wolf pinned me onto the ground. His green eyes held vengeance in them. He was going to me and I knew it. I struggled but he had me down. His teeth grabbed onto my neck and he slowly pressed down. I cried out in pain as blood dripped from my neck. I felt a large tear of my skin and the wolf was gone. I couldn't move. I was paralyzed in pain. Everything began to blur around me. All I could see was to blurry figures attacking each other. Everything began to fade. Suddenly there was a human figure in front of me. 

"Change!" I heard the person say. I did and I cried out in pain as I did. 

I felt my body being lifted and my body ached in pain. It was getting hard to breath and my breaths were being cut short. I finally fainted. 

------RIVER------

I carried her body to the pack ho use. I saw her eyes shut.

"No, nio, no! Aria! Stay with me!" I screamed at her. She didn't move. I ran as fast as I could to the pack house. 

I walked into the pack house and everyone stopped and looked at us.

I totally forgot we were naked.

"We had an attack! We fought them off but Aria needs medical attention right now! She's dying!" The pack doctors rushed to me and grabbed her and took her to the medical room. I tried to follow them but they wouldn't allow it. I stopped and watched my mate disappear. I lost her once. I can't lose her again for good. I just can't.
