ACHYUT
We plan so many things in life and most of the time they don't work out the way we wanted. I gave my freaking 20 years to this one dream and when I am just a step away from achieving, suddenly I feel lost.
I was just a 10 year old kid when I saw a dream of becoming the CEO just like my papa and continuing our legacy. And I obviously worked my ass off to achieve that position.
But now I can't. They want me to be married in order to become a CEO. The board of directors have added this new clause.
Does that even make any sense? Why do they think that a young bachelor man can't handle the responsibility and business properly. Years back when my father became the CEO he wasn't married either although mom was already in his life and they were in love but then they weren't married.
I don't have any bad name in the market but still they have made a silly condition that the new CEO will be made once he gets married.
My mind is nothing but a mess. The stress is sometimes too much to handle. Papa is getting older and he should definitely retire sooner. But the things that the directors are demanding seem ridiculous to me and even though I'm not the type who revolts against someone, I clearly want to voice out against this.
I wish at least Aniruddh was here. Aniruddh is my chachu’s son but he and I have more of a brother wala bond than Ansh and I. Anirudh’s absence in our house is mostly because of the presence of his parents.
Anirudh was a cheerful child. Chachu and Chachi loved him the most. Yet while growing up Chachu and Chachi wanted to secure his future since Chachu had decided to make a name for himself by forming a different business.
In the process Chachu and Chachi got so immersed in building up the company that they didn't realise they were losing out on Ani's teen years. Although Ani never expressed it but slowly he started growing quieter and quieter and getting distant from everyone of us.
Though Chachu and Chachi had realised this yet it wasn't until Ani graduated and went to London for his Masters. When he left without bidding them a goodbye, they had realised that they had lost their cheerful, fun-loving son at the cost of building his future.
Although they regret it much and still have made numerous efforts to bring back our cheerful Ani, still its as if Ani has already gotten lost in the pressure of becoming a businessman.
Maa and papa tried treating him with love and care everytime he used to stay with us because chachu and chachi were practically never there for him. But he needed his own parents too.
Yet Anirudh always acts civil with them. He never blamed his parents but he has his own complaints too. Maximum which are never voiced out.
But he always said no matter what they did, how they treated, he was super grateful to them for giving him a little sister, key to the happiness of the whole family, Aarohi.
She is the youngest of all cousins and definitely the life of the whole household. Even though she is my cousin, she is one of the most important people in my life.
My whole family is nothing but a drama house. Every other day something or the other keeps happening. And now with the new marriage clause my dadu is hell bound for me to settle down asap. Sometimes I wonder what if it's his plan from the start because Ashwant Singh Upadhyay is a man with mastermind plans.
