Alice waited anxiously for two weeks for Damon to arrive. She was grateful to be given the opportunity to save several lives from Damon, but she felt sorry that there was nothing she could do to stop Kai from killing his siblings. Refusing to think of the deaths she couldn't prevent, she focused on the ones she could.

It was on May 3rd 1994 that Damon finally arrived, one week before the eclipse. Alice was finishing her lunch when she felt the crystal's destruction summoning her.

"Since I finished my math problems early, is it alright if I spend the rest of the afternoon playing outside?" She asked her grandmother who sat across from her at the kitchen table.

"That's quite alright, but before you go, there's something I want to talk to you about."

"Okay." She agreed, feigning patience.

"I submitted your schoolwork to the school district and the nice lady there told me that you're far more advanced than kids your age. So she's recommended that before autumn, you take a placement test. That test will tell us what grade-level your lessons should be for the next school year. She's also told me that because the way they teach children now is different from when I was a child, that you may need a private tutor. That means, I won't be the one to teach you anymore. Would you be okay with that?"

Her mind had trouble keeping up with what was being told to her, as she was preoccupied at the thought of approaching Damon. Still, she got the gist of what she was being told.

"That's okay. I want to grow up and be as smart as you and Aunt Sheila, so I'll do whatever you think is best." She would need to hold back when the test came, however, the thought of getting her education out of the way sounded pleasant. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do in this new life. But as she was a teacher in her last life, perhaps she should just stick to what's familiar. Maybe she'll even teach at the Salvatore School. Luckily, her education was something she could worry about at a later time. She needed to deal with the Salvatores before figuring anything else out.

She stood from her seat, placed her dishes in the sink, and turned back to her grandmother. "I'm going to go play now. I'll be back before dark."

Her grandmother gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before replying, "Alright dear, have fun."

It didn't take long to reach the Salvatore Boarding House, with the path memorized and an acceleration charm in effect on her bicycle. When she arrived, she could only sense the presence of one vampire. As she got closer to the door, Stefan stepped out through the front door. He stared at her as he walked towards her.

"I've had time to process everything you told me, and I realized that I don't even know your name. You already know mine." He prompted her.

"It's Alice, but feel free to call me Ally. Now, why did you summon me? I can sense that your brother is not here yet."

"Yes. I wanted to give you a head start. He left me a message saying he is coming to town today. We can wait for him in the shed. I don't know how he'll react to whatever you're going to say to him and I don't want to invite him in, knowing his intentions towards Zach."

"That is wise of you. Just as I remember." She commented as they began striding towards the shed. Stefan had to slow his steps to not outpace her.

"Remember? Did we meet in your previous life?" He questioned.

She looked at him and considered lying, but decided a vague truth was better. "No. My previous life was not in this world. The world I came from granted me knowledge of those I would encounter in this one."

"What was it like? In your world?" He inquired once they reached inside the shed.

"Much like yours. As far as I can tell, most of our worlds' histories and technological advancements are the same."

"Like a parallel universe? I once met a physicist who mentioned the idea of a multiverse."

"Precisely. I can't explain how I came here or how I remember my past life. But I have to believe my memories are meant to help this world."

"That's quite brave of you. To take on such a large task in such a young body. Are you sure it's wise to be doing adult things in the form of a child?'

"Asks the 148-year-old teenager." She retorted. "Besides, I've already died and been reborn. Who's to say I won't be reborn again once I die. I'm willing to take that risk to create a world for the people I care about."

"For your family?"

"Yes."

"Why not tell them of your knowledge and have them be the ones to help?"

"I can't trust the adults in my family. They are greatly aligned with nature and I can't have them interfering with my plans."

"So your plans go against nature?" He deduced.

"Just helping you goes against nature. Witches aren't supposed to associate with vampires. The current Bennet's are not as willing to be loyal to your kind as my ancestor was."

"So how does helping my family help the world?"

"If your brother can be tamed, that's one less problem the world has to deal with."

"Well then, what's this about taming me?" The unmistakable voice of Damon interrupted them.
