For two weeks after Tyler's party, Alice tried not to think about her paternity, but it could change things. She had to be careful not to take a human life, and was worried that triggering her curse might negate her powers. Luckily, more pressing matters arose, granting her a much needed distraction.

"He's a thousand years old Abby, the power it will take to stop him could kill you." She overheard Sheila saying.

"She's my best friend's daughter, mom. I can't just let him kill her!" She heard Abby reply. Suddenly, an image flashed before her: Bonnie was celebrating her third birthday, but was crying that she wanted her mom. Seeing the vision, it clicked in her mind that Mikael had arrived in Mystic Falls seeking the Petrova doppelganger.

Alice had grown to love Bonnie, and she couldn't allow her to grow up motherless.
"Can I help, Aunt Abby?" She spoke as she stepped into the kitchen. Both women turned to look at her.

"Oh, sweetie. This is a problem for grown ups." Abby replied.

"I had a dream about him. The man that you're talking about. He wants to hurt Elena and you want to protect her. But I saw, that if you do it alone, you won't have your powers anymore. If I come with you, I can lend you my power so that you don't lose yours." She partially lied.

"I'm so sorry you had that dream. But he's a very bad man and it's our job to protect you." Abby stated

"I'll be okay. I'll prove it." She focused on a single thought, 'Don't be seen.' Within seconds, she knew it worked.

"Alice? What just happened?" Sheila gasped.
"Did she just cloak herself?" Abby asked in surprise. Both women stared at the area around her, obviously unable to see her.

'Reveal,' Alice urged the spell away.
"See? I can help you. He doesn't even have to know that I'm there."

"How did you know how to do that?" Sheila asked proudly.

"It was an accident at first, but now I can control it. Let me help, Auntie. What's the point of having these powers if I can't use them to help people?"

"But you're just a little girl, Alice. It's still dangerous." Sheila spoke with fading confidence.

"I'm a lot smarter than a little girl. I've skipped 6 grades.  This, right now, has to be why I'm so smart. I was meant to help Abby with this. Our ancestors are telling me to help Abby." 'Ancestors, memories of past life, same thing,' Alice thought to herself.

"The ancestors. Are you sure?" Sheila questioned.

"Something is calling me to lend my powers, and I think I should listen."

"Mom, if this is what the ancestors want, we have to do it," Abby spoke to Sheila.

"But this is dark magic, Abby. I'm barely willing to let you do this, how can I allow for my sister's only grandchild to be involved? I'd go with you before I'd let you take her."

"I'll be okay, Auntie. I'm a Bennet witch just as much as you and Aunt Abby. And something wants me to do this. Whether it's the ancestors, or nature, or something beyond our understanding, I was meant to do this. Aunt Abbie needs someone with her and it can't be you. Bonnie needs you and you can't do something that goes against who you are. If anything happens to Aunt Abby, you need to be here for Bonnie. Just like Grandma is here for me."

"You're so strong." Sheila spoke with tears in her eyes. Clearing her through, she spoke again, "Alright. I'll let you go with her, but you have to promise me that you'll stay cloaked the entire time."

"I promise. Nothing will happen to me." Alice hoped her words were true, but knew that her safety wasn't something she could guarantee. Worst case scenario, both Abby and her could lose their magic, but she had to take the risk.

The rest of the day seemed like a dream. Lending her magic affected her short-term memory. All she is able to recall, is holding Abby's hand as she spelled Mikael into dessication. She remembers coming home that night, and Sheila doting over them, full of worry for the exhausted duo.

Two days later, she awoke. The energy she lended needed time to recouperate. But she was okay with that. Sleeping for two days was a price she would gladly pay again if it meant Bonnie would have a mother in her life.
