3rd Pov.

"Tanjiro, we have to go now, what are you doing?" Tanjiro heard Giyu call from outside of his door. He had been 'changing' for the past 15 minutes.

"I'm almost done changing, just a couple minutes." He wasn't lying, he was changing. After they spent the week together, his body seemed a little more sore than he thought.

'I can't believe it hasn't gone away yet." Tanjiro thought. He had hoped the pain would subside in the two days before they left. But the pain only became a little more centered.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Giyu was worried at this point. He didn't want to rush Tanjiro. He had suspected that Tanjiro was in pain, but he never made that clear.

"Yes, I'm coming out now" Tanjiro quickly slid on his haori, cursing out the pain in his lower abdomen. He walked to the door and prepared to mask the pain. Tanjiro opened the door and saw Giyu leaning against the wall.

"Are you ready?" His eyes stared through Tanjiros, a suspecting look on his face.

"Yeah. Let's go." Tanjiro followed Giyu out the hotel and through the village. He wasn't questioning where they were going. After all, why would he need to?

Giyu had a place he was going to stop at before they left this village. He needed to buy something that he could only get there, something that he needed for his plan.

"I'm going to make a quick stop at an herb place down the road okay? Can you wait here for me?" He watched Tanjiro, who was more focused on the store across from them.

"Yeah, I'll be in there." He walked away, unsuspecting of Giyu, as he should be.

Giyu walked down the road and turned into an alley. He had walked around before their mission started, which is when he stumbled upon this place. He found a group of people in a small abandoned shop. He had listened in on their conversations and discovered that they sell illegal poisons.

He walked up to the single person who was there now and they talked.

After they talked, and traded a few things, Giyu left with something he very much had the intention of using.

He walked back to the store that Tanjiro went into and froze when he caught on to Tanjiros scent. He was distressed. Giyu followed the scent and found Tanjiro sitting next to a little boy who was crying. Tanjiro looked around and saw Giyu there.

"Giyu! This boy was crying saying that he lost his mama, right?" The little boy nodded and pointed at a candle store.

"W-we w-w-were s-sh-o-pping a-and then I-I g-g-got l-lo-ost...." He kept crying and Tanjiro seemed to be affected by that, which made Giyu affected by it.

"Well then," Giyu kneeled infront of the boy "Lets find your mama."

They walked the boy around where the shop was for a couple minutes, asking around if anyone knew him. While Tanjiro went to ask someone else, Giyu spotted a woman in the crowd. She seemed like she was worried and he could tell he was looking for something, or someone.

"Hey Tanjiro, there." He nodded towards her and Tanjiro caught on.

"Hey bud, is that your mama?" He turned the boy over to look at her and he immediately ran to her.

"Mama!" He jumped into her arms and they were reunited.

After the woman thanked them, they left the village. It was already late into the day, later than they had originally wanted to leave. It meant that they would be a little late to the mission.

They both walked until dark and Giyu seemed to not notice the subtle show of discomfort on Tanjiros face as he walked.

"How about we stop at the next inn? There should be one up ahead." He wanted Tanjiro to rest. He noticed something was wrong, but couldn't figure out what.

"Yeah okay." Tanjiros voice seemed a little strained so Giyu looked at him. He really looked at him as he walked, and then he realized. "So how far are we then?" There. That was it.

'He's in pain... And it's my fault.' Giyu knew that after walking as far as they did, anyone would probably be tired. If Tanjiro had felt sore before they left, then he probably felt like hell right now.

"Its a couple blocks maybe give or take. It'll only take about 20 to 30 minutes." He saw the look on his face and stopped walking. "Hey Tanjiro, just tell me if you're in pain." He stopped walking abruptly.

"What?"

"I know you're in pain right now." Giyu walked up to him and hugged him from behind, "You could've told me earlier.

"It's just a little uncomfortable, that's it." Tanjiro didn't want to admit just how much pain he was in. It wasn't like that at first, but now it felt like his legs were just going to stop moving at any moment. He didn't understand why though. He had done rough training and fighting, but he never felt this uncomfortable before.

"Liar." Giyu kick the back of Tanjiros leg lightly. Any normal person would have just flinched or stumbled a little. Tanjiro on the other hand, his leg gave out immediately. Giyu was already prepared to catch him. "Okay, come on."

"Huh?" Tanjiro was faced with Giyu bent down on one knee with his back to him. "What are you doing?!"

"Get on my back, hurry up."

"What?! No! I'm fine!" Giyu turned his head with his brow raised with the 'I know your lying' look.

"Do I need too pick you up?" Tanjiro shook his head and defeatedly climbed on Giyu's back. He wrapped his arms around Giyu's neck and legs around his torso. "Okay, we'll be there soon."

Giyu walked up the path while holding Tanjiro. When they were about halfway there he noticed the change in Tanjiros breathing. He looked at his and saw that Tanjiro was asleep with his head leaning on Giyu's right shoulder.

Once they got to the inn, Giyu paid for one room for the night and made sure not to wake up Tanjiro. When he got to the room he laid Tanjiro down and let him rest. He took Tanjiros uniform off, as he did his own and then laid down net to him.

"Sleep well, Tanjiro." He kissed him on the cheek then wrapped his arms around him and his vision fizzled out as he fell asleep.

They slept peacefully that night.

But that's because they didn't know that it would be the last calm night they would have together for some time. 

On time again! Yay!
