Day 1

Tanjiro Pov.

'I feel horrible.' I sat up and rubbed my tired eyes. After dinner last night, we were all taken to our rooms, our very separate rooms. Turns out the hashiras get better rooms than us for obvious reasons, but that means that Giyu's room is on the other side of the resort. I had trouble falling asleep and ended up spending hours recalling my week with Giyu.

"I really miss him..." I mumbled and stood up. I changed into my demon slayer uniform and walked out to the main rom. They had showed us around the place the night before and told us where to go in the morning. Unfortunately for me, I seem to have woken up too early. So early that it was still dark.

'What to do, what to do...'

I walked over to the room and sat on the couch where Giyu sat yesterday. I could still sense his scent even after so many hours. I closed my eyes for a couple minutes and then I heard someone walking into the room.

"Hey Tanjiro, you couldn't sleep either?" I saw Giyu and my heart skipped a beat. I immediately sat up and nodded. "Mind if I sit with you?" He had a slight smile but I could see the dark circles under his eyes.

"You know you don't have to ask." He sat a decent distance away from me and we didn't say anything after that. We just sat in silence, a comfortable silence.

I don't know when exactly I must've fallen asleep, but I did. I only woke up when I heard people talking in the hall, most likely on their way here. I sat up and realized I was leaning on Giyu's shoulder.

"Hey sleepy head, sleep well? You were out for a good 2 hours." He was looking at me with a gentle smile on his face. "Your friends are coming, you should probably move." I was so close to him, I wanted him to hold me but I could hear Zenitsu.

I got up and walked over to the other couch and sat down right before Zenitsu opened the door.

"Hey Tanjiro! Why are you in here so early?!" Inosuke was behind him, looking as boar headed as always.

"Oh I only came in here a few minutes ago." Zenitsu smiled and they both sat down next to me on the couch. I'd say it was about 7 a.m. or so.

We talked for a couple minutes and I glanced at Giyu a couple times during the conversation. He wasn't saying anything at all, just silently listening.

When we heard a knock at the door, we stopped talking and watched some caretakers come in with food followed by Shinobu and Kanao.

"Hey everyone. Now that everyone seems to be awake, we should talk about our plan." Shinobu was smiling like she always did. "I think we should take care of the demons tonight so that we can focus on helping the villagers after." 

That's how it started. Shinobu explained her plan, and everyone listened. Giyu jumped in a couple times and we all discussed what each of our roles would be. The hashiras will take care of the twelve kizuki and the rest of us will take care of all of the other demons. 

We talked to Mister and Mrs. Ubuyashiki about where and when the demon usually come out and we devised a map of the resort. They explained to us where they thought the lower twelve kizuki were and how they usually went about taking people.

After a couple hours, we were set on what we were going to do. Me, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Kanao are going out now so that I can try to find where the demons scent is strongest. The plan is to wait there until night and start the fight. Giyu and Shinobu will go to separate sides of the mountain and search for traces there until night.
