Day 2

Tanjiro Pov.

I don't remember a lot from last night. I remember seeing Giyu, and then someone bandaging me up at the resort. After I woke up today, I got dressed and went over to the main room but noticed that no one was there. I heard one of the caretakers in another room and decided to ask.

"Hey miss, where is everyone?" She looked over at me and her eyes went wide. "Miss..?"

"Mr. Kamado! You should be resting. We were left strict instructions to take care of you and make sure your arm was okay." She walked up to me quickly and started checking my arm.

"My arm is great! It doesn't hurt at all." I smiled at her. She seemed hesitant. "What's wrong?"

"It's just that.. Well Mr. Tomioka told us to keep an eye on you to make sure you don't overwork yourself." I felt a light blush crawl to my cheeks.

"He really said that?" I tried not to sound happy, but I think she noticed. She nodded and I couldn't be happier knowing that he was thinking of me. "Anyway I'm fine. So where is everyone?"

"They're in the village. They left a couple hours ago to start helping people board up their houses and everything. They're going to board up the resort later today."

"Okay, then I'm going to go down to the village now!" I started walking away but I could sense her worry.

"We were told to let you rest-"

"I'm fine. Thank you for taking care of me." I walked out of the main room and left the resort shortly after. I followed the path down the mountain and got a good look at the village from all the way up here. I could see Zenitsu from here. He was on top of a house hammering nails in, I think he was pouting about it too.

I walked down the path, speeding up the pace when I caught a hint of Giyus scent. I saw a bunch of villagers around every house and shop, all working on covering windows. I saw an older woman about to drop a piece of wood so I hurried to help her. I caught it just before she tipped over.

"Ma'am do you need some help?" I helped her steady herself and she smiled at me.

"I would greatly appreciate it, thank you." She led me to her home and I helped her carry the wood and put it up. My left arm hurt some, but I ignored it. She needed help. "Thank you young man." She bowed and then walked into her house. I went searching for either Inosuke or Zenitsu but I couldn't find them.

Their scent was mixed all over the place. I managed to track it to a small tea shop and I found a small plate of rice balls on the floor.

"Tanjiro?!" Startled, I looked up and Zenitsu was standing on the roof. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be resting?!" He started climbing down from the roof. Along the way he tripped and fell on the ground.

"You okay?" I walked over to him, he fell flat on his face.

"I should be asking you that! Your arm was pretty badly injured." He got up and limped over to me. "Me and Inosuke are fixing up this persons' roof. She even made us rice balls!" He picked up the plate and started eating one.

"My arm's fine. I was going to see if anyone else needed help around here." He looked at me skeptically. "Seriously my arm is fine."

"Okay..." He looked around and pointed to a house on the other side of the road. "The guy over there needed his windows boarded up. We where going to do that next." I smiled at him.
