Dear My Beloved Professor (M!Byleth x F!Reader)

Teaching Days

Y/n didn't know that her best friend's leader's house had a new professor to teach her and the classmates. She had just come back to the monastery as she had to visit her family about some arranged marriage. Fortunately, she was able to reveal her fiancé's plans on taking over the family and its land, causing the marriage to be postponed. She insisted that she marry someone she loves. After all, she was at the monastery. She could find someone with some power enough where her parents would be happy. Which took some convincing to her parents, where they finally gave in.

She finally walked into the classroom, her eyes met with dark blue ones. She gave a small wave and smile to the new professor, where he simply waved back and walked towards the desk in front of the classroom.

"I see you met the new teacher y/n." Y/n turned to the voice, it was her house leader, Claude. His charming bright smile shining brightly as he walked to the seat beside her.

"How was the family meeting? Arranged marriage?" Claude asked, your best friend, Hilda, sitting on the opposite side of you.

"Got rid of him. You know. The usual." Y/n said, her right hand doing a certain gesture of 'you know what.' Hilda only sighed before placing her own things on the table to prepare for the lecture.

"I totally get you. Forced marriages with people are so annoying. I am so glad that you can handle yourself Y/n. You seem to know when they are having something else going on."

"It's probably because I thought Y/n about people's scheming habits." Claude butted it, his own things scattered over the desk.

Y/n also gave a heavy sigh, "as much as I hate to admit it, Claude, your advice really did help. I found out that they were marrying for the power. Offering all this dowry and finding out it was stolen too. The people these days are extreme, trying to get what they want. Anyway, when did the new professor get here? I wasn't aware of it."

"Oh Lady Rhea just suddenly hired him as our professor after a run in with the bandits. They helped Edelgard, Dimitri and I the other night and then the next day they are our professor! Talk about being something else. He's Jeralt's kid." Claude explained right before the new professor called for everyone's attention, telling his students based on these "stats" where he let students train in what they liked or something that would be more suited.

Soon class was over, everyone had left to the dining hall as Y/n stayed behind. She wanted to introduce herself to the new professor, since she wasn't here when he arrived.

"Hello, professor? Do you have a minute?" Y/n said, after the classroom was empty, her things were already packed in a bag as the professor was going through some documents.

"Hm? Oh yes. Y/n L/n was it?" The new professor asked, gently placing the ink filled quill back into the bottle before he made eye contact with y/n's.

"Yes, I am sorry for missing your arrival here the other day. I had family matters to attend to."

"Its fine. I understand it's something that happens. Just in the future, please let me know about it."

"Of course, professor." Y/n said before doing a quick bow and turning.

"My name is Byleth by the way." Byleth said, picking up the quill and continuing scribbling on the papers on his desk, "I believe is what you wanted to know."

Y/n was in awe, he was pretty observant. Y/n gave a cute smile to the professor, grabbing her belongings and waving away as she left the classroom. Byleth waving goodbye in return.

The days had passed on like so. Where Byleth would teach classes and give insight to his students and Y/n saying behind class to speak to him. They both learned a bit of each other. Y/n learned that Byleth was like a wall sometimes, where he showed very little emotion when it came to speaking but even behind that stoic face, he was somewhat like a child. Especially when it came to fishing.
