At about 3 am, raine had woken up for some unknown reason. As raine looked over, they eda wasn't there, it kinda made scense since they weren't a couple and it would be hard to sleep at all after what just happened.
Raine got out of bed to go check on her. Raine left their bedroom, and saw eda passed out in the couch, with her phone, and a glass of wine. Raine analyzed the scene, then shook their head. Raine picked eda up bridle style, and put her to bed, Raine wasn't sure how she'd feel being in bed with them, but her kids slept like monsters. Luz was somehow facing the footboard of the bed, while king was dangling off the bed in his sleep.
As Raine put eda to bed, they decided to just take her shoes off, changing her would be inappropriate. Raine got back into bed, and just laid ok their back, thinking of what had happened the day before. They couldn't believe it, and still brought tears to their eyes.
Then Raine heard movement. They looked over, and saw eda sitting up, Raine pretended to be sleep she she wouldn't think they were weird.
Eda looked over, and let out a small chuckle. "I know your awake" she said in a low voice to not wake up her kids. Raine either, and sat up. "Nothing gets past you walnut.." Raine said in a low chuckle. "You okay?" Eda asked, slightly turning to them. "Honestly.. No.. Not really" Raine answered. "Yeah.. It.. Was a lot to take in" eda mumbled. "Eda.. Are you crying?" They asked, Raine noticed how eda wasn't facing them. "Ah.. Um.. A little yes" eda admitted. Raine took her hand, as a silent way to tell eda come come closer. Eda moved next to them, and sort of laid her head on their shoulder. "I'm.. So sorry walnut.. " Raine said to her. "I'm sorry to.. Your girlfriend was there.. It's not just me" eda said. "I know.. But that-" eda covered Raines mouth before they could finish. "I.. Dont want to think about it right now" eda said, then just laid down. "You don't mind.. Uh.. Sleeping with me?" Raine asked. "Raine.. Come in, weve known each other since we were kids.. It's fine.. Just..hands stay to themselves" eda said, and started to drift off. "Good night walnut.. " Raine mumbled. "Night.. Rainestorm.. " eda whispered, as she drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, eda got luz and king ready for school as usual. She did what she could since this wasn't her house, but Raine of course was generous and let helped her out with anything she needed.
When eda got back, she combed through her hair with her fingers. "Hey walnut.. You okay?" Raine asked. "Yeah.. Yeah.. But were late for work.." Eda said. "Don't worry.. I called us out.. Neither of us are in a good mental state to work" Raine saidm eda smiled, and nodded. "Yeah.. Thanks rainestorm.. " eda said.
Through the rest of the day eda was looking for apartments that could be nice, and enough room for herself and her kids. She wasn't good at finding places to stay, and usually on family vacations Lilith was the one who made reservations. Raine came over, and looked over her shoulder. "Need some help?" Raine asked with a smile. "Uh.. Yes, actually I have.. No idea what Im doing" eda said in a small chuckle. Eda handed Raine her phone, and within a few minutes, Raine found a really nice apartment building. Eda looked at it, it had 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a nice kitchen, living room.. And a nice view of the city. Eda smiled at Raine with her eyes glowing. "Raine it's perfect! Thank you so much" eda gushed. Raine blushed slightly at her sudden excitement, and ran their fingers through her hair. Eda looked a little more into the place, and saw it wasn't far from Luz and kings school. Eda mood immediately changed when she remembered shed have to get the rest of her own stuff, and Luz and kings.. Once they moved. Eda took a deep breath then looked at Raine. "I'm going to see lily.. If I'm not back in time can you go get Luz and king for me?" She asked. "Well of course.. Do.. I need to take anything with me?" They asked. "Uh.. Yes actually, your ID, and proof you know me" eda said. Raine nodded, then eda grabbed her keys. "Thanks raine!" Eda said, as she left.
Eda was trying not get everything done right away, first thing was she now had to get divorced. Luckily her sister was a lawyer, so she had to give to her sisters law firm.
When eda got there, she walked up to the front desk, and got the mans attention. "Hi.. Excuse me? I need to see Lilith clawthorne" eda requested. "Do you have an appointment?" The man asked. "Well.. No, but I really need to see her" eda said. "You cant see anyone without an appointment" the man said. "Shes my sister, I just need to see her" eda said, no getting slightly Agrivated. "No appointment, no lawyer, and besides shes busy" the man said. "Actually, I have plenty of time to see her, Adrien" Lilith said as she walked up. Eda smiled when she saw her sister. "Hey Lily-lilith" eda said quickly correcting herself, since this was her sisters job. "Come with me" Lilith said, eda indeed followed her, and they went to Lilith office. "Edalyn, your lucky I happen to be coming or he would have call security" Lilith said with a smile crooked smile. "Yikes.. Dude takes his job seriously" eda mumbled. "Exactly.. So next time just call me and let me know your coming" Lilith said as she sat down. "Yeah, sorry lils.. I just need your help" eda said. "Did something happen?" Lilith asked as she fixed a stack of papers. "Well.. Y-yeah.. I'm getting divorced.. " eda said, as she looked down, fidgeting with her fingers. Liliths expression turned to shock and concern. "Oh my god! W-what happened?" Lilith asked. "I.. Dont want to get into it.. But can you help me?" Eda asked. "Of course" Lilith said, then eda's phone started ringing. "Ah.. Sorry lily, let me get this"
Eda said as she stood up, and answered the phone.
"Raine?"
"Heyy.. Umm.. There a bit of a problem"
"What kind of problem?"
"Jack.. Hes here to, hes trying to take king"
"WHAT!? W-WHERES LUZ!?".
" ow-.. Um.. I have Luz, but he's trying to take king"
"W-what!? I.. I'm on my way"
Eda quickly hung up, and Raine put their phone back in their pocket. "Ma'am please, his mother is on the way, but she doesn't want him going with this man" Raine pleaded. "Nonsense, I'm his father, and her husband" Jack claimed. "Ex, husband.." Raine said glaring at Jack. King didn't really know what was going on, and Jack had a hold of his hand. "Well..you said the mother was coming?" The teacher asked. "Yes! Shes on her eyes, but she sent me to come get her kids" Raine explained. "Well.. Do you have any proof, you know the mother?" The teacher asked. Raine showed the teacher countless photos, of her and Raine, and some with both children with them. If Raine hadn't confirmed Jack was married to eda at one point the teacher would have assumed Raine was married to her. "Alright.. Sir do you have any proof you know this child's mother" she asked Jack froze. Jack had been such a shit husband, they never had pictures with her, or even the kids. Luckily right then, eda pulled, and ran over. "Mom!!" King yelled with a happy smile. "King! Baby, oh God.. Thank God your alright" eda whispered. Raine smiled, seeing eda embrace her son. "Ma'am, is this your husband? Or.. Ex.. Husband?" The teacher asked gesturing to Jack. ".. Ex.. Husband" eda said, and sh3 avoided even looking at him, as she knew she'd start crying if she did. "Alright, well is he allowed to pick up your children?" The teacher asked. Jack looked at eda with pleading eyes, which eda wouldn't even glance at. "Absolutely not.. " eda said in a stern tone, then stood up. "King, go to Raine" eda said, as she guided him over. "Well if that's the case, il take him off the information for your children" the teacher said. "Yes.. Thank you" eda said.
Eda and Raine drive back to Raines apartment, and while Raine was entertaining Luz and king, eda was in Raines room crying. And not very quietly either, so Raine had turned up the tv a little so Luz and king wouldn't notice, putting on the most colorful cartoons they could find, just not cocomelom, that would be torture.
This was probably the lowest point in eda's lifecand even after everything, eda was grateful Raine was here to help her.
