I stand beside Sam, leaning against him as the group talks through the plan to rescue Merle Dixon.
"I'll come," I volunteer to go back to the city.
Dean gives me a disappointed look, "you and Sammy are staying here."
"What did I do?" Sam asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Someone has to stay here with Ellie unless you want her to be by herself," Dean states.
"I'll keep an eye on her," Shane offers, winking my way.
"I'll stay," Sam says with a quick nod and wraps a protective arm around my shoulders.
Oh, please. Like Shane Walsh actually wants me. He's so far up Lori's ass. I was surprised to find out that Rick was Lori's long last husband. I could have swore her and Shane were together before this. Turns out Shane was just fucking his best friend's wife.
"Eleanor is fine, quit treating her like a damn child," Daryl sticks up for me.
"I'll be safer with you two anyway. Sam has been a little interested in Amy. He doesn't want to babysit me," I add.
Dean groans, "I hate how stubborn you are."
"I learned from the best," I tease him.
Rick's pov
I couldn't help but watch Eleanor. She's stayed near her brother and Daryl Dixon the entire trip to Atlanta.
Sometimes I catch her eye which only made me quickly look away in embarrassment. I know I shouldn't feel so drawn to her. I found my wife and son.
Before all of this happened, Lori and I were on the edge of a divorce. It clearly doesn't matter now. What are we going to do? Go to the court house to declare our divorce?
I also notice the way Lori acted around Shane. It was almost like she was ashamed to be near him. I can't help but wonder if something happened while I was trying to find them.
I'm grateful for Shane for keeping my family safe but I wouldn't put it pass him if he slept with my wife.
When we reached the rooftop, the only thing that was left was Merle's hand sawed off.
The way Eleanor looked so pained for Daryl makes me wonder if they are an item. She deserves much better than someone like him anyway. If he really is anything like his brother, he's a shitty person.
"Let's head for the guns," I speak to the group.
Daryl shoves past me, brushing his shoulder against mine in a rough way.
Eleanor looks at me and shakes her head, "you have nothing else to say?"
"We came back for him. All he had to do was wait," I tell her.
"He didn't know if we were coming back," she defends Merle.
I really don't understand the girl. She's the only one that cares of Merle and Daryl. I can tell Dean could have cared less if we went back or not, he's only doing it to please his sister.
Glenn and I lead the group to where I dropped the bag of guns when I first got into the city. I was lucky that Glenn seen me and was able to rescue me from the tank I got stuck in.
We need these guns though.
Eleanor went to grab the bag while we killed the walkers around us. It took us all by surprise when a car stops in front Eleanor and pulls her into the back seat.
"Ellie!" Dean calls for her, trying to reach the car.
He's too late as the car already speeds away. Another guy, who looks more like a kid, grabs the bag and begins running.
"Hey!" Daryl yells after the kid as we all chase after him.
Daryl grabs the kid and pulls him to ground, "I swear to god I will kill you unless you tell me where they took that girl."
The kid is speaking in spanish. I can't understand a word he's saying.
"You die unless we get the girl," Dean threatens the kid.
Dean surprises me by stabbing the kid in his leg. The kid begins to scream but Daryl covers his mouth.
"I take you," the kid cries.
Dean backs away from the group and I can tell he's beginning to panic some, "I cannot believe I let this happen."
Daryl pulls the kid up and he leads us to his group.
"Dean, you couldn't have stopped it," I comfort him or at least try to.
"She should have stayed back at the camp but she's so damn stubborn," Dean says, shaking his head.
"She gets it from you," Daryl says with a chuckle.
Dean groans, "I'm gonna kill her."
Eleanor ended up being safe. She was reunited with her brother after the gang leader's grandmother came into the room. They were only trying to take care of the elders. They look after the members of a nursing home.
I would have never thought these men were protecting these people.
"Where's the van?" Eleanor asks as we reach closer the where we had left our vehicle.
"You've got to be kidding me," Glenn groans.
"Merle's dumbass must have taken it," Daryl states.
"Why would he do that?" I ask him.
"Why did you leave him locked on the roof?" Eleanor shoots back at me.
Damn, that girl. She's going to keep me on my toes for sure.
