"You look like shit," I tell Rick as he sits beside me on the cot.
"You don't look any better," he answers, nudging my shoulder with his.
"Did you really kill Shane?" I ask him.
"I was furious after I found out what he did to you. Then he tried to get me alone in the woods to kill me. I killed him instead," he says with a shrug.
"Rick," I began.
"It's okay, Eleanor. I lost my best friend and my wife died. She was barely even my wife at that point yet she still haunts me," he rants.
I run my hand down his arm, "Rick."
He finally stops talking and looks at me with sad eyes.
"Thank you," I speak softly.
"I feel so guilty for feeling the way I do about you," He says, looking away from me again.
"Why do you feel guilty?" I ask him.
"I had a wife that I didn't even know was cheating on me when you caught my attention," he admits.
I lean my head against his shoulder, "I think we just need time to heal."
He laces our fingers together, "We definitely do."
"I really can't believe Daryl walked away from me," I mumble.
"I hope you know that I would never walk away from you. Not for anyone," he promises me.
For some reason, I believe that Rick Grimes would never leave me. He could love me in ways that Daryl didn't know how. That I didn't know how.

Chaos happens outside of the prison walls. The Governor sent a truck through the gate and let walkers out. Gunshots came from all directions.
I was inside with Beth, Jo, and Judith when the gunfire happened.
My only thoughts were to protect Judith and Beth. We got lucky that the gunfire didn't move into the prison.
