~Rose~

I watch my fingers move in the mirror as I Gradually buttoned up my Dress. Smoothing the material out at my hips.

It was Late in the afternoon around dinner time. I was getting ready to have a feast with the People I felt like were family in the palace.

It's been a Wonderful few days actually. The sun Has been shining so brightly, making the dead flowers bloom so beautiful. Birds were chirping for the first time again after the war.

The towns people seemed to be doing much better thankfully. I mustered up as much money as I could and put it towards the town and getting everything that was destroyed of it in the war replaced.

The contractors have been working on rebuilding the towns local shops that were burnt and destroyed . They have gotten almost Half way finished and so far the shops have looked better than they did before.

My throne room and the palace still looked terrible but we would have to wait, I and the people that lobe among the castle Remain alive and just fine—My people come first. Plus in the future I have some amazing plans for the reconstruction of the palace and the throne room. I'm going to make it more beautiful than it already was.

Hopefully by the end of the construction on the town I would even still have enough money to Feed but I have high Hopes that everything will go as planned.

——

I walked at my own pace towards the dining hall.
The corridors were playing with a low tune of music. It was weird as before the war there was never any music playing throughout the halls but I didn't mind the music. In fact I liked it.

I hummed to myself. My personal guards walking closely behind me.

Upon walking into the Dining hall the music was even louder here. People were chatting and laughing. Some were even playing games while eating small appetizers off miniature plates.

I smiled seeing everyone so Happy. It made me happy.

I loved seeing Us still having Dinner together like we did before the war— when Alessandra was still alive.

Speaking of Alessandra today was the first day I didn't wake up crying. It felt almost weird. Unnatural to me almost as I was so used to waking up sobbing and ruining my night clothes.

Everyone bowed in acknowledgment to me. Some raising their glasses of wine or simply giving a slight bow of the head and shoulders.

I sat down at the head of the table. Placing my hands upon my lap. Smiling genuinely with My dark lips. My dark lined eyes crinkling.

All I could think in the moment as I watched everyone mingle was that: I wished Alessandra was here, I wished Alessandra was here, I wished Alessandra was here.

I pushed the thoughts aside before it could make the grief I was desperately trying to push away for the night came back up and slapped me.

——-

I laughed softly as something A blonde women said "Oh yes I remember that"

The Doors behind me opened with a loud bang and in walked urgently two gaurds that patrolled the outside of the palace.

the men both bowed in unison beside me. People around stopped talking. "My lady There is someone you must see"

I stopped laughed and slowly placed down the glass of Dark wine on the table. Scooting back from the table and Placing the napkin in my lap next to my plate I looked at everyone who was watching me "please continue" i gestured towards the Food on the table.
