Alfred, in fact, didn't know what it was. It was like a ceremony of sorts. A magenta cat was sitting at the end of the room, and a group of people with doctor's outfits and masks sat around him, kneeling in what seemed like a prayer. The cat was holding a scythe, which had a skull protruding dark fur on it.

The cat's ear twitched and she opened her eyes to see Alfred at the doorframe. 'I'm screwed', Alfred thought to himself as the cat spoke in a deep, oddly feminine voice. "You dare interrupt our service?" The cat stood up and gripped his scythe. "You better have a good reason for it." Her eyes looked as if they were glowing before Alfred made a run for it. They ran down flight upon flight of stairs, before unknowingly entering a random room without thought.

Alfred slightly hyperventilated before pulling out his inhaler. He turned on the light and looked around. It was in surprisingly well condition for how long the hotel was closed. They let out a sigh of relief as they took off their shoes and hopped on the bed. It was very soft and Alfred quickly got comfortable in it. He held onto a nearby teddy bear.

Alfred was nearly asleep when a sudden thought jolted him up. "Kao."
