Ash, Brock and Misty leave Violet City as they head out to Azalea Town where the next gym is located. While hanging out at the Pokècenter, Ash, Brock and Misty run into a assistant of Professor Elm who hands them the GS Ball revealing that Elm has no idea of what to do with it and they should take it to Kurt in Azalea.
While on their way, Brock is able to get them into the resort and rich place called "Palm Hills" as because of his gym leader status, his family have a place there. Ash, Brock and Misty end up living the high life as they stare. The Team Rocket Trio, who have run out of food and are looking for some to steal and have set their sights on Palm Hills with Jesse and James planning to steal the Snubbel of the owner of Palm Hills.
Team Rocket attempt to sneak through it and end up stealing the Snubbel. Ash, Brock and Misty attempt to stop them but the trio are allowed to stay to eat and Jesse catches the Snubbel as a gift as Ash, Brock and Misty are kicked out for being slobs. The
