Chapter 14: The Cave Ruins

Blaze slowly walked through the forest alone. The others were working on a plan to break everyone out.
"We need to go back to the ruins"
"What?"
"If we are fighting who I think we are, then we are gonna need help..."
"Who could help us!?"
"I should just let you see them..."
Just like that. Blaze then excused himself and walked away from the group and into the forest. Nyli questioned him but when she saw the look in his eyes, she knew that he was gonna help somehow.
"Almost there."
Blaze continued forward until he found the small clearing and the sinkhole. He slowly looked down the hole. "I'm surprised I survived this fall..."
"You didn't... the only reason you lived was our will. We made you resurrect."
Blaze slowly looked up. "I see..." He shuddered slightly before jumping down. He drove a sword into the wall and let go. The cable connected to the blade extended him down, landing him on the ruin's ground. He yanked the blade by the cable, pulling it to his hand. Blaze sheathed it on his back and ignited his hand with fire for light. He saw the original statue of Kovu and Dindari. He slowly passed it and looked up. It was a large stone like temple. On it was a symbol almost like slashes. They were dark crimsons and reds. "Wait... thats..."
"Akari's symbol..."
"But... didn't she vanish too?"
"We stuck together. She is like a sister to me."
Blaze slowly walked into the temple. The place was covered in vines undergrowth. There were a few patches where sunlight came through. "Wow..."
"Who is there..."
Blaze froze at the booming voice. It echoed through the ruins. Just itself was enough to raise his fur all over his body. Suddenly, there was a glowing beside Blaze. Blaze turned and saw Kovu. "Akari! We need to talk!" There was silence when suddenly a cloud of dust flew up in front of them, as if someone was landing on the ground. A dim crimson light glowed and out appeared a red dragon hybrid. Her clothing was ragged and torn, and she carried a claymore on her back. "Who is this."
"This is Blaze... He's gonna retake Elementia... but we need help."
Akari scoffed. "Yea, remember the last time we lent someone our powers?!" She yelled. "Pheno didn't mean to loose control, Akari-"
"Wait- what does my dad have to do with your powers?"
"YOU PICKED HIS SON!?!?!?!" She shouted at Kovu. "ARE YOU NUTS, DIN WILL JUST TAKE OVER HIS MIND TOO!!!"
"Blaze... Your dad was one of the few to earn powers from us... He received them from Akari, then me, then Lazanati... then Dindari... Din corrupted Pheno's mind... and let the humans attack Elementia..." Blaze stared at Kovu. "W-What? Why?"
"Dindari has multiple sides to herself. With that, one wants all living beings to cease to exist. After she attacked the hybrids... she attacked all of us... killing a few gods... including Sparks..." Blaze sensed sadness from Kovu, Azar, and Inigo. "Sparks?"
"Our brother..."
"Din extinguished his flame... Killing him."
Blaze looked down at his swords as Azar and Inigo spoke. "I'm so sorry."
"Oh spare your sympathy!" Akari yelled at him.
"Akari please-"
"No Kovu! I will not allow this! If he is anything like his father, he will be blinded by Din and finish off the hybrid race!" Blaze looked up at her, anger boiled in him.
"Is this what Onali would want..."
Akari turned to Kovu, straight in his face. "BRING UP ONALI AND I'LL KILL YOU HERE AND NOW!!!!" Blaze saw the sudden fear in Kovu's eyes. Blaze quickly reacted, rushing forward and sliding between Akari and Kovu. "Back... up..." Both were shocked when Akari grabbed his armor, lifting him in the air. "GET OUT OF THE FUCKING WAY YOU...Mere..." Her grip loosened as her eyes stared into his. "Kovu... what is she doing-"
"I don't know."
"Your eyes..."
Akari started to tear up. "Your eyes are like his..." She slowly set Blaze down. "Who's"
"Onali's... His soft look even through his angry expressions..." Blaze looked at her. "He meant a lot to you... didn't he..." She nodded. "He was my dad... He saved me when I was dying that 200 years ago when hybrids began to come into existence... He came down and took me into his arms... and saved me... and made me into the goddess of blood."
Blaze softly nodded. Akari slowly pressed her hand to his forehead. "I'll help you take back Elementia... for Onali..."
Blaze closed his eyes as he felt Akari's hand slowly fade.
"A Hino Fire User... its rare to see them now a days..."
Blaze opened his eyes and the gods were gone. It was only him. "Ok... This is it... Its time to take our home back..."
