Before she could comprehend and frame a reply, Rudra was back, "It's late, Nitya. Shall I drop you?" He asked.
Nitya nodded, grabbing her purse and casting a sly look at Meera. She intentionally leaned on Rayaan's side while passing him, and Meera couldn't help but notice the calculated move.
Rayaan followed her outside.
All this commotion didn't sit well with Meera. She couldn't accept the fact that her husband didn't even spare a second glance at her. Nitya's mocking question lingered in her mind.
Meera tried hard to suppress her thoughts for a while. She didn't feel like eating and went directly to their room.
Even after numerous attempts by Aryan to feed her, she refused, citing her health as an excuse. Restlessness engulfed her as the events played on a loop in her head. His ignorance was unsettling, and Nitya's presence only deepened her unease.
The fact it was happening all of a sudden was making her feel dizzy. The drastic change in him left her stupefied. Was her time coming so soon?
Just 4 months to their marriage and she was going to see this day? Rayaan hadn't made her wait too much.
Faint footsteps echoed, and Meera quickly punched her face in the nearby stuffed toy, pretending to be asleep. She felt him hovering over her, checking if she was sleeping. His familiar fragrance filled her senses, but something was amiss.
It was the same fragrance as Nitya's.
Meera was getting all sorts of wrong ideas. She still didn't want to believe what she was sensing.
She kept pretending to be asleep, and he soon joined her in it.
Two more days passed in silence, with Rayaan continuing to avoid her. She was hurt, she settled with the fact that the lovely moment of their marriage had come to an end, but she refused to be a victim.
She was not going to suffer like her.
She was not that forgiving.
She was not that helpless and definitely not someone who was going to worship her husband even after the numerous sins he committed. She was going to stop him at the very first step. She was going to show him that he couldn't treat her like she didn't exist and then expect her to behave like everything was fine.
She decided to stop interacting with him entirely. While she had been searching for ways to be close to him for the past two days, she had now resolved to make him realize his mistakes. And for that, She did nothing. Absolutely nothing.
No greetings. No looking his way. And definitely not giving him any attention.
Meera woke up, pretended it was a normal day, had breakfast, and left for the office. Rayaan seemed too occupied to notice the change in dynamics, but he sensed the lack of attention from her.
