Nicolo's POV
2 days. 52 hours. 53 minutes. 12 seconds.
I've been sitting here for that long. Thinking. I'm not sure exactly what, but I'm thinking.
My worried eyes throw a glance at Bella. 2 days. 52 hours. 53 minutes. 27 seconds.
That's how long she's been laying in here. A room that smells like bleach and chlorine half the time. I don't know how I haven't thrown up yet.
The doctors said she had a concussion, severe rope burn on her wrists, and blood loss, and that it would take a few days to recover. It's been two and I'm getting more worried by the second.
"Bella, please, if you can hear me, please wake up."
Nothing, except the heart monitor beeping, the only thing confirming she's alive.
Bella's POV
I feel like I'm falling, but slowly. And, I'm underwater? I'm falling, underwater. But I can breathe. I look at myself and then around me. Nothing.
Everything's muffled, too. My eyes feel like 1000 pound weights are tied to them. And that's when I feel it, the warmth surrounding my left hand. I don't have to open my eyes to know it's Nick. I wonder how long I've been out, I hope it wasn't that long. I don't want to worry him.
I suddenly feel powerful, and I move my fingers just slightly, knowing Nick's with me right now.
He gasps.
"Bella? Can you hear me? Are you alright?"
I don't feel that powerful, all I can do is flutter my eyelids.
Once I do open them, I'm blinded by a bright white light and I immediately close them and then blink a few times.
"Oh thank god you're alright, Bella." He sighs dramatically and I manage a small smile. If you weren't paying attention, it'd look like I wasn't smiling. But Nick always notices, whether I had a bad day to what made me happy that day.
I open my mouth but all that comes out is incoherent sounds. I want to tell Nick how much I'm sorry, how much I missed him, how much I was scared for him.
"What is it, Bella?"
I make a disgusted face at my name. For some reason, bellissima felt better. And I wanted to keep hearing Nick say it.
"What?"
I open my mouth and try to make use of my vocal cords
"No."
Nick looks confused, "You wake up after 2 days and your first word to me is 'no'?"
I nod.
"Why are you saying no?"
"Don't...call me that." I cringe at my own voice. Man, being knocked out for 2 days really takes a toll on you.
"Call you what? Bella?"
I nod.
"Well then, bellissima, is that better?"
I attempt at a wide smile but it feels like it comes out lopsided, although I wouldn't have noticed by the caring look on Nicks face, so I just nod.

Sorry for the very short chapter! It's late and I have fatigue, but I promise to update soon! Also, round of applause for me for finishing my three page essay in one and a half days!
