"She's here" Antonio said
"She's here? For how long?" I asked frantically
"Well, we don't know, but we're assuming for a long time since it's the first time in 8 years." Zach says shrugging his shoulders
"Where is she now?"
"Well, I saw her on the sidewalk that goes to her mothers house yesterday so she might be living there?" Zach said unsure
"I saw her at the popular cafe down the street, it's only been 10 minutes since we saw her there so I'm guessing she's still there." Jake says
I thought about it, and I wondered what she looked like now. We were only 12 when she moved away, and she always wore pigtails and glasses and had these braces for her teeth that I could only bet were perfect now. And her eyes, her honey brown eyes that I admired so much when I was younger. I could get lost in them all day. I was snapped from my thoughts by Lorenzo
"Hey, stop dreaming about her, if you wanna go see her, now's not the time to waste time." He's always been the straightforward kind of guy, always getting to the point.
"Fine, let's go." I said, irritated that he interrupted my thoughts just a few minutes ago.
We walked to the cafe and through the window, I made eye contact with her, and I got to see just how beautiful she had gotten in 8 years. She was beautiful. Her long brown hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her honey brown eyes looked golden almost from the afternoon sun going through the window. And when her jaw dropped, I caught a glimpse of the perfectly lined teeth she had.
What she was wearing at the cafe really caught my attention because never would I have imagined her in a tiny black crop top and black jeans with a white belt and white boots. She looked different, but in a good way. I liked the new Bella, confident and empowered. And how could I forget my nickname for her. Bellissima. Italian for beautiful and that was just what she was, and she was here to stay.
She seemed to be too shocked to notice that we were going out of sight because her jaw was still open and her eyes wide as she looked at the spot my friends and I were at just a few minutes ago.
"Sooo? What do you think of her?" Antonio asked wiggling his eyebrows
"Yeah, she is pretty cute, huh?" Dante asked smirking
"Yeah. She is," I said, still stunned that she was here, in Italy, in the little town called Portofino.
"Well, I think I might go ask her out." Jake said, he was the guy in the group who asked out any girl he wanted, said they were serious, and had a new girl every week. Unlike him, I had never been in a serious relationship since she moved away, so I settled for being the school's bad boy to get my mind off of her. I knew I liked her when we were younger, but as we got older, I couldn't stop thinking about her. No matter how many things I did to keep my mind occupied, nothing worked. It was like she had her own little space in my head for her to pop up over and over again, and it was making me question my sanity.
"Don't you dare, Jake" I said in a dangerously calm and low voice
"Fine, I'll make sure she gets with the almighty Nicolo Rossi." He said raising his hands in mock surrender
"Whatever" I said rolling my eyes
"Oh come on dude, we can all see your little crush on your little Bella. You should make it less obvious." Zach said
"Hey guys, I'm hungry, can we go to eat something?" Lorenzo asked, typical Enzo
"Sure, I bet little Nico over here has an idea of where to go." Antonio says wiggling his eyebrows
"I swear one day I'm going to shave those eyebrows of yours off, Tony" I said in a promising voice
"Hey!...They're what gets all the ladies." He says, rubbing his eyebrows and glaring at me
"Hey guys, we're all really hungry, let's just go to the cafe since it's the closest to here." Zach says in a whining tone
As we were walking in, Bella bumped into me and was about to fall, but I quickly wrapped my arms around her waist and she slowly opened her eyes.
As we stared at each other for a few seconds, I decided to break the silence
"Fancy meeting you here...bellissima." I say still staring into her beautiful eyes I have been in love with since the day I started messing with her
She seemed to have realized she was staring and looked at the wall as if it were the most interesting thing ever
"Yeah, you can let go of me now, Nick." She said in an irritated tone
Nick. Her nickname for me. She still remembered.
"You were heavy anyway, as heavy as a whale. I was sure you were going to break my muscles." I said, smirking down at her
She scoffed and rolled her eyes, a habit she had whenever I would act cocky, which was majority of the time
"Yeah, like you have any." She said, and she looked hot when she was annoyed. Especially in that tiny shirt they call a crop top
It was shortly after I noticed that my friends were snickering quite loudly behind me, but I didn't care. I was just happy to see her again
"And also, my name is Nicolo, not Nick bellissima." I said in a matter-of-factly tone
Just then, Zach cleared his throat to interrupt our bickering
"Hey dude, I thought we were here to eat. Not so you and your girlfriend could reunite." And I didn't need to turn around to know that he rolled his eyes. He rolled his eyes when he teased someone, and unfortunately this was one of those times.
I just couldn't understand why when he said that she was my girlfriend affected me so much. It's not like she was, but the thought has gotten my mind wandering off to places it shouldn't be.
"I'm not his girlfriend!" She said, obviously mad, but I found it cute. I could practically see what was going on in her pretty little head. She wanted a fight. With Zach. I chuckled in my head at the thought of her fighting Zach.
I decided to end this little feud between them
"Anyway, nice to see you again bellissima."
"Well it wasn't for me." She mumbled, but I knew she said it loud enough for me to hear on purpose
"Come on bellissima, we both know it was." I said in a sing song voice while smirking and winked at her, and she rolled her eyes in response
"Well bye, I hope I never see you again Nick." She said, smirking
Nick. The way it rolled off her tongue is doing things to me. She still has her strong Italian accent even after being in England for 8 years. I missed her. A lot.
"Goodbye, bellissima."
And she walked out of the cafe, probably headed to her house since it wasn't that far from here.
After she was far enough away, my friends went all crazy
"Oh my gosh, did you see the way she looked at you?"
"She's definitely the same Bella"
"Man you're screwed, Nico"
They all said at once
And maybe I am screwed, but I didn't care. As long as she's in my life now, I'm happy. I couldn't bear to see her go again, possibly even longer next time. If there was a next time, which I'm praying there isn't.

The boys went home and so did I.
I took a shower and got dressed into some boxers and gray sweatpants and went to bed, thinking of her. The only girl I have ever loved
