~Eighteen~

Bella's POV

I wake up to the sound of ringing.

What time is it?

I lean over and pick up my phone on the nightstand.

4:23 am. This better be urgent cause this ruined my beauty sleep, and I get angry when I don't get enough sleep.

"Hello?" I speak groggily

"Hello is this Bella Ventini?" The person spoke

"This is she."

"Hello, this is St. Rome's Hospital, we are delighted to inform you that your father has woken up. You may visit him at 6:00 am if you would like to for that spot is currently available."

I was speechless. And overjoyed with happiness. I must have been quiet for a long time since the woman talked0

"Ma'am? Are you still there?"

"Um-y-yes. I will gladly be there at 6."

"Got it! Thank you!"

"Thank you!"

I couldn't sleep for a long time, so I decided to get up and just watch some tv, but when I opened my door, I heard weird sounds. It sounded like footsteps. It sounded like it was coming from Nick's room. As I slowly and as silently as possible walk towards his door, I hear slight mumbling.

"What do I do, what do I do?" He said

What is he talking about?

I lean my back against the wall and bend over sideways to try and hear through the door.

"Yeah I know that but what am I supposed to do?" He seemed to be talking to someone. Probably on the phone.

Nicolo's POV

"Yeah I know that but what am I supposed to do?" I say irritated

"I don't know, what you always do I guess." Zach says sleepily.

I woke up this morning because someone had been messing around my warehouse.

"Okay, but what do I tell Bella?"

"Dude, I don't know. Just let me get my sleep, man. You know what time you woke me up with this phone call?"

"Would you stop thinking about yourself for once and think about your friend in need of your assistance?"

"Fine, tell Bella you have to go to McDonalds since you go so frequently."

"She's never going to believe that. Besides, what if she goes there and finds out I lied to her? Friendship over."

"Hello?" I asked since his line went silent

"Sorry what? I might have fell  asleep."

I sighed in frustration, "I'm hanging up."

I was about to press the button to hang up but I heard more talking.

"Ok." Then he proceeded to talk but forgot to hang up

"Geez, that man never gives me a break. For once I wish he would just–"

"I'm still here, Zach" I cut him off

"Oh shi–" He hung up

I sighed heavily and headed towards my door. I needed some water

Just as I opened my door, I heard feet pattering against the floor,  going away from my room.

Seems like bella was eavesdropping.

I smirked to myself as I walked passed Bella's door and down the stairs
